Ahmad Farrokhzad was an Iranian-born Australian citizen who came to Australia on a leaky boat as a teenager, seeking asylum along with sixty-two other would-be refugees fleeing their respective homelands and the alleged persecution they faced therein. Openly Muslim by faith, Ahmad remained a devout follower of Islam.
