Episode 4 – Close Encounters
The office was finally quiet after the fire alarm chaos, but Amara’s heart still raced. She could feel Daniel’s presence behind her as she clutched her documents.
“Are you alright?” His voice was low, steady, but carried a weight she couldn’t ignore.
“I… I’m fine,” she stammered, glancing at him. Something in his eyes made her want to trust him, even though the note still haunted her thoughts.
He stepped closer. “You shouldn’t be alone right now.”
Amara felt a shiver run down her spine. It wasn’t just the lingering smoke from the alarm—there was something about the way he looked at her, intense and unreadable, that made her pulse race.
“I… I’ll manage,” she whispered, but her words felt weak even to her ears.
Daniel’s hand brushed lightly against hers as he handed her a folder. The touch lingered for a second too long, and her heart betrayed her with a quick, panicked flutter.
Then, just as quickly, he withdrew, smoothing the calm mask over his face.
Before she could say anything, her phone buzzed. A message popped up:
"You are being watched. Leave the building tonight. Alone, it won’t end well."
Amara froze. Her hands trembled. Who could know? And… could Daniel really be trusted?
Her safe, ordinary world was crumbling, one secret at a time.
