THREE WEEKS LATER
Kiara’s POV
RING! RING! RING!
The loud ringing of my alarm clock lulled me from my dreams once again. I slowly shuffled around in my bed, groggily raising my head, which was still embedded in my blanket. My eyes narrowed as I shot a murderous glare at the annoying gadget, which just kept on blaring like it was nobody’s business…
Well… a new day, a new struggle….
I rolled out of the bed, dragging my tired self straight into the bathroom to begin preparing for the day..
“Bye mom!” I was already out of the house before she could respond, but I could still hear her yell something after me…
But I barely heard her…
And I feel like she knew…
I started, dropping my shoulders as I let out a short sigh, before making my way towards my parked scooter.
Alright, let's take it from the top once again, shall we…?
My name is Kiara Michaelson, I'm eighteen years old and a freshman at Ravenwood University…
And currently, I'm not single anymore…
That's right, I have a boyfriend now…
Aiden McAllister…
Yes, THAT Aiden McAllister…
The guy I had been crushing on since we first met…?
Who turned out to secretly be a werewolf…?
Yeah, we're dating now…
A couple days after the incident at the mountains, he finally decided to ask me out…
And of course, I said yes…
I mean, why wouldn't I…?
…
Okay I'll admit, I was a little freaked out when I found out that he was a werewolf. At least I was at first, but Aiden's a really nice guy to be around…
I won't say he's not dangerous, he probably might be, but he doesn't seem to want to hurt anyone…
That was good, right…?
Besides, I don't really think I had a right to be that scared of him, considering that there was also the fact that I wasn't exactly what you'd call ‘normal’ myself…
You know what I'm talking about…
The witch thing…?
That I still haven't told him about yet by the way…?
Even though we've been dating for over two weeks now…
…
I know, I know, I should've told him about it by now, I just haven't gotten the chance to. Also, my grandma and mom have been seriously against me revealing that part of my life to anyone…
I mean, not even my two best friends know about it…
But I feel like she'd be willing to make an exception with Aiden…
Because he's like me…
Well, he's not a witch of course, but he's also… ‘not exactly human’ either.
…
He's also on the supernatural side of things…
…
You know what I mean…
The point is, there shouldn't be a problem telling him…
Right…?
…
“You're late” a masculine voice pulled me from my train of thoughts as I looked up…
There he was, leaning against a pillar on the other side of the parking lot..
Mr tall… dark… mysterious…
And obviously handsome…
Aiden McAllister…
“Aiden, Hi!” I quickly parked my scooter to the side as I rushed to hug him. He responded, turning to steal a glance around. People were passing by, and from the looks of it, they were staring…
However, the minute they met his gaze they turned their faces away…
He didn't seem to care…
And neither did I…
“Did you sleep well?” He asked as I disengaged from the hug
“Yeah, did you?” I asked back.
“Well,” he thought for a moment, before answering ”me and the guys scouted around for a bit last night before we went to bed, so yeah, I suppose we did.” he ended that last part with a shrug, as I just nodded
The “guys” he was referring to in question was his new found pack…
Yes, Aiden had built a new found pack…
Over the passed two weeks, things had changed quite a bit around here
The mountains had also become a no go area for me considering that Aiden and his guys often patrolled that area now in search of anything supernatural…
Regarding the supernatural, they were pretty much our neighbourhood watchdogs…
No pun intended…
Okay, maybe a little pun intended…
But, on a more serious note, outside of my family's witch lineage, there was hardly any supernatural activity in Ravenwoood…
Either there were no other supernatural creatures in the town..
Or if there were, then they were really good at keeping a very low profile…
Oh, that's right…
You haven't forgotten right?” I raised an eyebrow and Aiden looked at me…
“Forgotten… what…?” his brows knitted.
“You're supposed to come over to my place tonight…?” I give him a slightly angry pout. “to have dinner? So I could introduce you to my family? We already had this talk.”
Aiden raised an eyebrow, trying to recollect. And then the thought seemed to strike him again “Oh, right, sorry about that.” He shook his head “What time again?”
I stroked my chin for a bit, then replied “At least 8.”
Aiden’s brows flickered at the thought as he stroked his chin “I don't know Kiara,” he seemed to hesitate for a moment “isn't it a little too early for that?”
I furrowed my brows again as soon as he said that...
Maybe it was a little too early for that, but I was also planning to use the dinner to reveal my witch heritage to him.
I didn't want him to be completely thrown off by it, so I wanted a relaxing arena…
And dinner seemed to be the perfect option…
What could possibly go wrong…?
“C’mon, Please…” I gave him the cutest puppy eyes I could muster. “There's something really important I want to tell you also…” I gave a pout…
He narrowed his gaze, looking at my face as he gave my words another thought…
“Fine…” he let out a resigned sigh “I'll be there by 8.”
“Yay!” I jumped for joy, then I remembered once again “Oh, and I feel like I should warn you though, my family can be a little… intense…”
“Really?” Aiden raised an eyebrow again “How so?” he asked, tilting his head. He seemed really curious…
I scratched my head, looking for the perfect words to use to describe them…
I couldn't exactly tell him outright that they were witches, but even my friends had described my family as a little ‘intense’ to strangers…
So how could I explain that in a way he would understand…
Without seeming suspicious…
“Well…” I began “they can be–”
Ring!
The school bell immediately rang, interrupting me before I could finish my sentence. We both stared in the direction of the annoying object perched on the wall…
Ringing endlessly…
“Well, looks like thats our cue…” Aiden let out a sigh as he turned to look at me. “We'll talk later?”
“Yeah…” I replied, quickly disengaging from him as we both went in our different directions.
To our respective classes…
Damn it…
Well, I could always talk to him after…
Right…?
