In the moment of confirmation that it was indeed Jessy, Bram's emotions overwhelmed him. With tears in his eyes, he let out a heartfelt howl, a mixture of joy, relief, and love. Gathering his resolve, he spoke with unwavering determination, "I will protect you in every way I can, Jessy." With those words echoing in the air, Bram set off, running swiftly towards his home. His heart was filled with a renewed sense of purpose and a deep commitment to safeguarding Jessy. Every stride he took was fueled by his unwavering love and the promise he had made. As he raced through the forest, Bram's thoughts were consumed by the ways he could shield Jessy from harm, both physically and emotionally. His instincts as a protector kicked in, and he vowed to be her shield, her guardian, and her source of strength. Nothing would stand in his way when it came to ensuring her well-being. As Bram finally arrived home, he found the pack still immersed in slumber. Seeking solace and a moment of respite, he quietly made his way into his room, yearning for some much-needed rest. However, his tranquility was abruptly interrupted when Liyah entered his room, her voice filled with curiosity and concern. "Where have you been, Bram?" Liyah inquired, her eyes searching his face for answers. Startled by her sudden presence, Bram took a moment to collect his thoughts before responding. He realized that he needed to explain his absence and reassure Liyah of his well-being. With a calm yet honest tone, Bram replied, "I had some matters to attend to, Liyah. It was important, but I'm here now." He hoped that his words would convey a sense of reassurance, letting Liyah know that he had returned safely and that there was no cause for worry. Liyah's disbelief was evident as she confronted Bram, her voice tinged with skepticism. "Do you honestly expect me to believe your words, Bram? I am well aware that you went to see that human! What were you thinking?" Liyah's lack of trust in Bram's explanation was palpable, as she questioned his actions and intentions. The weight of her disappointment and concern hung in the air, creating a tense atmosphere between them. In response to Liyah's disbelief and accusation, Bram's voice carried a mix of conviction and sincerity. "That human, Liyah, her name is Jessy!" Bram's words held a touch of urgency and a desire to make Liyah understand the significance of Jessy's presence in his life. He hoped that by revealing Jessy's name, he could convey the depth of their connection and the importance of his actions. It was important for Bram to emphasize that Jessy was not just any human but someone who held a special place in his heart. By sharing Jessy's name, he aimed to bridge the gap of understanding and demonstrate the genuine bond they shared. Liyah's confusion lingered, her voice reflecting a mix of disbelief and concern. "Jessy? Are you truly willing to jeopardize our pack for Jessy? Have you forgotten, Bram, that you are now the alpha? You made a promise to your father!" Bram's anger flared in response to Liyah's doubts and the mention of his father's promise. His voice grew firm as he rebutted, "Do you honestly believe that I would put our pack at risk, Liyah? And do not dare to use my promises to my father against me in this situation! I am well aware of my responsibilities, just as you should be aware of yours!" Bram's words carried a resolute tone, emphasizing his commitment to both the pack and his role as the alpha. He refused to let doubt tarnish his intentions or his dedication to the well-being of their pack. It was important for him to assert his understanding of the responsibilities entrusted to him, while also reminding Liyah of her own duties within the pack. Liyah's response carried a mix of frustration and disappointment. "So, this is how it is now, Bram? Ever since you encountered that human, you've changed. I feel compelled to remind you that we, as wolves, are not meant to align ourselves with humans." Liyah's words held a sense of concern for the pack's well-being and a reminder of their inherent nature as wolves. She emphasized the potential consequences of Bram's connection with Jessy, questioning the impact it might have on his identity and their pack dynamics. Her departure left Bram in a state of introspection, causing him to question his own capabilities as an alpha. The weight of Liyah's words lingered, challenging his sense of balance between his responsibilities to the pack and his affection for Jessy. Bram's worry intensified as he considered the possibility that Liyah might reveal his connection with Jessy to the rest of the pack. The thought of his secret being exposed filled him with a sense of vulnerability and apprehension. In the morning, Jessy was awakened by a knock on her door. Startled, she quickly got out of bed and opened the door, only to find Nick standing there. Concern etched on his face, he asked, "Jess, are you okay? I waited for you at the diner, but you didn't show up. I was worried about you." Jessy's surprise was evident as she glanced at her watch and realized that she was already an hour and thirty minutes late. Panic washed over her, and she exclaimed, "Oh my God! Oh my God, Oh my God! Why didn't my alarm go off?!" Realizing the urgency of the situation, she turned to Nick and said, "Nick, I'll meet you at the diner, okay? Let me quickly get ready!" However, Nick disagreed with her plan and suggested, "No, Jess, I'll wait in the car. That way, we can get to the diner faster." "Alright! That's better! I'll be there in a minute," Jessy replied with a sense of relief. Nick smiled in response, appreciating Jessy's willingness to adapt to the situation. As he turned to head towards his car, his attention was caught by a set of animal footprints nearby. Curiosity piqued, he couldn't help but wonder about their origin. Intrigued, he decided to ask Jessy if she had a dog or any pets, hoping to satisfy his inquisitiveness. As Nick waited in the car, his mind couldn't help but wander back to the peculiar footprints he had discovered. The size and shape resembled that of a large dog's paw, fueling his curiosity even further. While he pondered over the mystery, his attention was suddenly captured by a captivating sight. In the distance, Nick spotted Jessy running towards the car, her curly hair in disarray, and a natural glow adorning her face. Despite the lack of makeup, her reddish lips, pinkish cheeks, and freckles only enhanced her beauty. Nick couldn't help but be amazed by the effortless radiance that Jessy exuded. A sense of admiration washed over him as he took in her appearance. In that moment, he realized how truly beautiful Jessy was, not just on the surface, but in her genuine and unfiltered state. Her natural charm and the way she carried herself left Nick in awe. As Jessy reached the car, Nick couldn't contain his admiration any longer. With a warm smile, he greeted her, "You look absolutely stunning, Jessy." His words carried a genuine appreciation for her beauty, both inside and out. When Jessy settled into the car, she responded to Nick's compliment with a hint of self-deprecating humor. "Are you kidding me? I look stunning? You mean I look like garbage," she chuckled, not fully accepting the compliment. Nick, however, persisted and reassured her, "No, seriously Jess, you look beautiful." Jessy's cheeks flushed with shyness as she gratefully replied, "Well, umm, thank you, Nick." Sensing her slight embarrassment, she quickly changed the subject, asking, "Can we go now?"
