Chapter 78

1186 Words

Daniel and Rose returned home. After Rose parked her motorcycle, she glanced at Daniel anxiously before quickly speeding off. She and Natalie were best friends, and she didn't want to get caught in the middle if Daniel did something to Natalie. It was better to leave. Just as Rose drove away, Natalie's red sports car screeched to a halt in front of the house, the tires squealing in protest, mirroring her frantic state. Click-clack-click! Natalie's high heels echoed as she rushed toward Daniel, her breath coming in short gasps, her chest heaving. "Where's my brother?" Natalie's voice was tight with anxiety and fury, practically spat out. Her eyes were fixed on Daniel like daggers as if she wanted to stab him. Daniel lounged on the couch with his arms crossed, showing no sign of alarm.
