Chapter 5 Something tickled Travis’s cheek. He wanted to scratch at it but couldn’t seem to move his arm. It felt heavy and the rest of his body felt sluggish. He couldn’t even open his eyes, and it took trying to open them to even realize they were still closed. His glasses were on which was strange; he never went to bed with them still on. Wherever he was, it was warm. Not overly so. Comfortable. And, for the most part, quiet. He could hear the sounds of a ticking clock. Birds chirping in the distance. A page of a book turning. It smelled nice, too. Like coffee and spring. The sweet perfume of blossoming flowers floating in through an open window, maybe. Travis must’ve slept but he had no memory of falling asleep. In fact, he had a little trouble recollecting what brought him here. T
