Scorching hot, that's what the kiss was. Like all the pent up anger from our jibes these past few days had been punished in that kiss alone. My head felt lightweight, it made me feel grateful that Beck had backed me up against his car so I could lean my whole body on it. Before I have the time to savor his ambush of a kiss, we hear rustling on the bushes nearby. Beck pulls away in an instant, but doesn't back away, his body still pressed flushed against me. If he was affected by the kiss, I wouldn't know because his shoulders were squared telling me he was on the defense.
