Tala I slowly opened my eyes as I heard the voice . Her gaze landed on the broad chest of a man. I felt his arm wrapped around my waist while his hand was gently stroking my hair. I immediately pushed him on instinct but not the man did not even budge. I was stunned for a moment. Because I remembered something specific about this scenario. It happened before. “You are awake. Thank God,” said the man with a familiar baritone voice. I slowly raised my face and almost gasped when our eyes met. My green eyes meet his dark ones. My suspicion was correct. It was the guy at the hospital! There was the strange beating of my heart again. That continuous thumping that I didn't want to feel. Before I could speak, the man quickly stood up. “You were having a nightmare, that was the only way I could think of to calm you down. And you kind of really calmed down,” he said before sighing and scratching his messy hair. “Maybe you can’t understand what I’m saying.” The man must have thought that I cannot understand the language he's speaking. I don’t know, but that almost made me smile. Almost. “I understand you,” I replied in English. If he was surprised, he did not show it, instead a smile appeared on his lips. “That’s good because I can’t speak a word of Italian.” My heart literally skipped a beat because of his simple smile. But before I started to feel something that I couldn't understand anymore, I noticed the tattered clothes he was wearing. As if slashed by something sharp. I looked around the unfamiliar rooms as almost everything was out of order. Everything was broken and upside-down. “What happened here?” I ask, almost a whisper. He scanned the room. “While you are having a nightmare, you produced this gusts of winds. Strong winds that slashed everything.” My jaw dropped to the ground. The events that took place in Rome gradually came back to me because of what he said. The sudden disappearance of Maya, the three men who wanted to take my sister, and the loss of my magic. I also remembered when he came. Maybe he saved us from the three men? That was the only reason I could think of why I was with him now. If that was true, I suddenly felt guilty. Even though I couldn’t see any marks of injury, I was sure that he was hurt by the strong winds I released. The arrangement of the room is just proof of that. It just occurred to me that I lost control of my magic while having a nightmare. I am sure that the reason is because we are not in the shelter of the academy now. Because the protective spell that surrounds the entire school helps a lot to prevent the sudden release of my magic. That's one of the reasons why Aunt Kyndra enrolled us at the academy. Then, I suddenly remembered being slashed at the back by a sharp claw. I reached my back to feel it myself, but I didn't even feel any pain in my back. And I only thought of one thing as the reason why I didn't feel any pain or discomfort. I gasped. “Maya. Where's my sister?” I asked, nervous about what might happened to her after what she did to me. “If you are talking about the red-golden-haired girl. She’s in another room next to this.” I stood up quickly and walked out of the room I was in. I did not pay attention to the man stopping me, but when I opened the door, I was stunned. It's like a living room outside. There were two out of three men who were the reason why we are in this kind of situation with Maya. The blue-haired one was in front of a laptop which was made up of a small keyboard and virtual screen. While the man with gray hair was in a mini bar drinking some wine. The blue haired man stared at me without interest. “You're awake.” I gave the man with gray hair a bad look, who in turn glared at me. “What? You wanna fight again?” he asked boldly. Even though I wanted to answer him, I chose not to face the man with black hair who was now standing at my side. “Why are they here?” I asked, almost shouting. “They’re with me,” he said. His answer startled me. I took a step back. Away from him. “Then . . . you are an accomplice with their evil plan. A kidnapper, ” I accused. I clenched my fist. I am starting to get angry again. All of a sudden, everything in the living room opened and a very strong wind came in from the window, which caused the bags to rattle. The things flying inside, I was mad. “s**t. We should really just leave that girl behind,” said the man with gray hair. The man beside me glared at the gray haired guy. “Shut up, Rigde.” Then he turned to me and took my hand without saying a word. I was taken aback by his sudden gestures. “Please, calm down. It's all just a big misunderstanding. We have no intentions to hurt your sister. Or even you for that matter. So please, calm down,” he said. I calmed down all right. How come I paid all my attention to the hand of the man who was holding mine? It was a weird feeling, like being touched by something hot and yet I didn't want to be rid of it. I wanted it, forever. It felt like . . . Home. But I immediately suppressed the strange feeling and instead turned my attention to what he said. “Misunderstanding? You were there to take Maya. There's no misunderstanding in that,” I said. I took my hand back warningly and went straight to the other room where he said Maya was. But before I entered the room, I heard the two guys whispering and arguing at each other. “Elemental witches are crazy. There’s no way you could reason out with the likes of them, ” said the guys with blue hair. “Tsk. Stop generalizing them. Not all of them are like your witch,” the dark-eyed man replied in annoyance.
