It’s a riddle, it won’t be obvious. You must be clever. The armor seemed to be the key. Dragons, insects, armadillos, all types of sea creatures … what else had armor? Did I need to think more abstractly? No, the thing was alive, not an abstract concept. My eyes danced around the room, unseeing until they landed on my father.
