Where's Mom

We started talking and it was really interesting just listening to his stories. He looked at me and when I looked back at him, l was lost in his amazing gaze and I was caught unaware by the bell.

"Lin, it was nice talking to you." I said, he smiled and left.

After sometime.......

Ricky approached me and said,

"Mr Chris has been caught and he is going to prison in Russia." I was so happy and I hugged Ricky so tight. He held my hand and took me to the basketball court where he had a match.

I sat down as I watched the match. The match was going well but immediately Ricky set his eyes on me, he could not stop looking at me.

He took every opportunity he got to get a glimpse of me and for some reason, I could not stop staring at him. Ricky missed very many goals and in the end, they lost the match. I expected him to move to the dressing room and change but I was wrong. He started moving towards me and I felt a spark in my body. When he approached me he asked,

"How was I?"

"You were kinda good." I replied smiling and he said,

"Mostly because you were staring at me and when a pretty girl stares at me, I easily get distracted ."

"No, I did not. You were the one that was looking at me that's why you missed all those goals ."

"Okay, fine. How did you know? he asked,

"Because I was watching the match, silly. It would not be hard to know that you missed goals."

Ricky laughed really hard and I also laughed. He moved very close to me and said,

"Alexa to be honest, I have never seen a girl like you. You are very pretty and you are the only girl that has made me feel alive. " I could see love in his eyes. He pulled me close to him and kissed me. My whole body was on fire. When he let go, I was speechless and he said,

" By the way you are invited for a party at Brown's place. Will you come? "

" Uh-ha.... "as I nodded my head. He smiled at me and asked,

" Can I drop you home? "and I replied,

" Uh-ha.... "He took me by his hand . I thought his dad was going to pick us but to my surprise, the blue Rolls-Royce Sweptail was his. He opened for me the door and said,

"Let go." I was so happy and amazed. He took me home and kissed me goodbye.

At home....

My mom wasn't around so this time I made sure I checked every room but she wasn't there. I felt so uneasy and helpless. I was completely at sea then i heard someone knock on the door and I quickly rushed hoping that it was my mom. Unfortunately, it was some guy and he said,

" Good evening miss. l am Officer James Conker. Is this person related to you?" He got out his phone and showed me the picture of my mom and I just froze until he said,

" Excuse me, Is this woman related to you?" I just nodded my head, tears whelmed up in my eyes and he said,

" Come with me to the hospital. She wants to see you right now." We entered the hospital and he took me to the room where my mother was and he told me to enter the room. When I entered, I saw my mom lying on the bed.

Tears burst out my eyes as I moved closer, i started breathing heavily and I sat down next to her. She held my hand and said,

" My dear daughter Alexa, I'm sorry........(cough)....."

"Mom.... mom.... speak to me...... sorry for what......mom....mom....please do not leave me alone.......I am nothing without you......please mom...... " I yelled as I shook her body waiting for a reply with uncontrolled tears rolling down my cheeks. My throat tightened, a lump formed making it hard for me to speak, my lips quivered and then I heard her say,

" I'm sorry that I'm leaving you and I won't be with you anymore. You will always be with me even if I die. Always remember that I love you" She stopped breathing. I broke down and started crying uncontrollably, tears streamed down my cheeks, unchecked and hot against my skin. shaking her body until i let go and yelled,

"MOM!!!!!!!! why, why are you leaving me?" My words broke up and all i could say were stuttering sounds. Hot tears streamed down my eyes. My whole world was crumbling in front of my very own eyes and I couldn't take time

" Sorry, child. Your mom was involved in an accident. Luckily she survived and we brought her here by the way,........you are going to live with your stepmother. "Out of shock I shouted,

" Stepmother!!!!!!!. Your lying right? Please tell me your lying. " and the officer said,

"Yes, stepmother. Before you were born, your dad got married to another woman and after giving birth, she ran away with her children. Your dad was left heartbroken and that's when he fell in love with your mom and gave birth to you. Unfortunately, your father died.

" But how do you know all this information?"I asked and he replied,

"Your mom told me before she died. When we found her, she was alive and she demanded to see you." Tears spilt over and flowed down my face like a river escaping a dam and he added,

"I informed your stepmother and she will take care of you." I started crying heavily and he told me I had to leave to met my stepmother and her go attend the funeral. I had to start a new life without my dearest mom. I felt so empty, lost, miserable,alone. Her death left a huge gap that could never be fixed. My whole body shivering torn down by the loss of my mother I had no blood relatives except my stepmother and her children. I quickly burst into tears I was so helpless and alone.
