After they left the cafe, Bogdan and Maya took refuge in her room and - among stolen kisses from time to time - they planned what to do with the Anatomy project. When the battle plan for the following weeks was finally ready, and the norm for that day was fulfilled, the two layed down on Maya's bed, talking about their pre-college life. Bogdan sat on the edge of the bed, to one side, and kept his right arm under Maya's head. They were relaxed and felt good in each other's company.
They fell asleep hugging, while Maya was telling him about the places where she grew up.
The ringtone of his phone woke Bogdan from a deep, dreamless sleep. He was still tired and was surprised to see that it wasn't the alarm that told him every morning that it was time to go to college. He picked up the phone and looked at the watch. Five o'clock. "Damn". He got out of bed and walked out of the room, he didn't want to wake Maya, then answered the caller.
- It better be important, Cristi.
- I woke you up, didn't I?
- What do you think ? It's five in the morning.
- Are you home ?
- No, I'm with a friend.
It was for the best if his brother didn't know where he was spending the night. Great lover and Don Juan, Cristian David Sami was the ideal example of an annoying brother.
The bad twin, as all their friends called him, Cristi had no hesitation in getting 'too close' to any female person who was interested in Bogdan.
The eight minutes that separated them made the twins both identical and different. You had to know them very well to say who was who, although they were completely opposite in temperament.
Bogdan was the quiet one, while Cristi was Cristi. Always looking to do something crazy, to party, to drink, to meet babes, and more and more….
- Can you come get me from Pakko?
- Why do you need me?
- I had a few bottles.
Bogdan didn't despise him, he just didn't like him. Yes, he was his brother. But he had much to lose because of the family's black sheep.
However, he secretly admired him for not getting behind the wheel if he put even a drop of alcohol in his mouth. He swears in his mind. "Pakko". Of course his brother would be at the most ordinary bar nearby
the city, the only good place to find problems. And he drank.
- I'll be there in thirty minutes. Until then, stay out of trouble.
He heard his brother whistling.
- I'm not going anywhere, brother. Thanks !
After Cristi hung up, Bogdan went insidd Maya's room, took a piece of paper and wrote a note to Maya, leaving it on the desk, under her cell phone, for her to see it when she wake up. He covered her with the soft blanket at the head of the bed, kissed her on the forehead and in the greatest silence, he slipped out of the apartment.
An hour later he was already at home, in the pompous kitchen of the villa, having breakfast.
However, it was too early for the first meal of the day, so he was content with just a croissant and a strong coffee.
Cristi joined him as he poured himself a second cup of coffee. He was now dressed in sweatpants and a white T-shirt over his body. His hair was still wet from the shower he took as soon as they got home. He didn't look hangover, though Bogdan could swear his brother has a headache.
After taking a cup from the cupboard and pouring his coffee, Cristi began to open the drawers of the kitchen furniture, one by one.
- Hey, Bogdi. Didn't you see the aspirin box?
- Did you look in our bathroom cabinet?
- Is it there?
-You took it last week, in the morning, after dinner with Max.
- Is that what I did? I'll be coming back.
Said and done. In the shortest time he returned cheerfully to the kitchen, with two tablets in his hand. He swallowed them with coffee and sat down on the couch so he could see his reflection - as he sometimes tell to his brother.
-You still didn't tell me where you were last night.
-Where it doesn't concern you.
- Come on, don't be like that. What if you share?
-Do you forget we're twins?
-Believe me, I couldn't even if I want to. Every time I look at you, it's like I see myself in the mirror. And it's not always a pleasant reflection.
-What do you mean by that, Cristi?
- I mean, even though we look the same, there aren't two things different than the two of us. If I am the night, you are the day. I am the lion, you are the mouse and I say with my hand on my heart that I end up among devils, and you among angels. I swear I sometimes get tired of your reserved behavior and always in its place. Have you ever done something without thinking before?
- What do you mean ?
-The fact that you have to live your life, because you have only one. Be spontaneous, don't plan everything. You don't always have to be the perfect example and the benchmark of everyone around you.
- You mean?
- I quote: "Cristi, look at Bogdan who entered Medicine first, while you are satisfied with the post-secondary school of designers."
-And do you think that if I were different, our parents wouldn't see your faults?
- Oh yes ! Of course they will see them. But they won't just see mine.
They both burst out laughing. They didn't have many opportunities to sit and talk like they do now, but it was enjoyable. They believed that once they grew up, being identical, they would have a lot of advantages such as taking exams instead of each other and doing the same with business meetings organized by their parents. But their characters, different from heaven to earth, were the ultimate disadvantage
