Chapter Seven

1575 Words
No-one’s P.O.V Robert came out of the basement and slammed the door behind himself. Damon and Leroy were in the kitchen making something to eat, Instantly looking up when they heard their leaders mumblings as he wandered over to the fridge and grabbed two beers. One for him, One for Brian. They could tell he was in one of his moods and decided to just leave him too it. Heading into the front room, He jumped down onto the sofa, Next to his buddy and just started staring into space for a moment, before snapping out of it and passing Brian his beer. ‘Thanks man’. Brian mumbled quietly and turned his attention back to the TV. Rob shook his head, for some insanely strange and bazaar reason... Tonight's events were getting to him a little, and on top of that, he has to bin one of his favourite shirts on the way out of the basement, because his girl had vomited all over it! He didn’t really know or understand why tonight got to him so much, and it took him all of his will-power not to grab a kitchen knife and gut Damon for how he acted earlier. He was willing to kill one of his friends for a girl.. And he didn’t even know her name.. Aswell as the fact she was his victim. ‘Dude, are you ok?’ Brian suddenly asked, snapping him out of his thoughts. He just nodded. ‘I need to talk to you’. Rob spoke up and didn’t even wait for Bri to respond before he got to his feet. ‘Lets go outside, We need to talk privately’. He didn’t want to run the risk of Damon.. Or even Leroy hearing what he had to say. He shouldn’t even really be telling Brian, but the two were best friends and had been almost inseparable since High-School. Rob was SURE he could tell his best friend anything without judgement. Heading back to the garden for the third time this evening, The two men headed over to the shed. Rob still had to clean up the mess he had made when he was playing with his new toy, and 10 minutes of his time was worth not having to hear Damon moan. As they walked in, Brian instantly cringed at the sight of vomit on the floor. What the hell had Rob done to cause that reaction?! Neither of them said a word as they began cleaning, but Rob still needed to confide on Brian about something... He just had to build up the courage to do it. They still hadn’t uttered a single word by the time they had finishing tidying up. ‘Can you give me a hand in my room?’ Bri asked He knew something was seriously bothering his friend and maybe an excuse to have some more private time will encourage him to talk a bit more. Walking back into the house, Leroy and Damon came out the basement, Laughing together. It made Brian and Rob stop in the tracks instantly. ‘What were you doing down there?!’ Brian demanded to know, Stepping forward, as if slightly protective. ‘Chill, Dude, For f**k sake, We went down to see of they had any Identification’. Rob eyed them both suspiciously. Were they telling the truth? ‘And?’ Brian wanted to know if they found any. ‘Robs girl is called Charlotte, and Yours is called Gina. They have the same last name and address so guessing sisters. The guys already knew that. Throwing over a couple of purses, Leroy just rolled his eyes and left the room, followed close behind by Damon. Shoving them into their pockets, the two friends headed up to Brians room. As they walked into the bedroom, Rob had to ask; ‘So, What did you do to her? I saw Damon with some pliers before’. Brian, For whatever reason, had started to feel a bit bad about what he had done to the girl. It confused him.. He never felt like this before. She was a victim. A plaything, not something to get attached too. But.. she was different, and Brian was too afraid to ask himself why that was. Should he open up to Rob about it? Would he understand? The four men had One main rule and it was simple.. Never fall for a victim… EVER. And while Brian knew he hadn’t fallen for her, He just didn’t hate her and that was just as bad. One of the group had made the mistake of breaking the rule before, and he was kicked out for it. None of the guys knew where he was now, but he was warned never to come back to LA, and if being exiled wasn’t bad enough, he had to kill the girl he fell for. But would Rob, Leroy and Damon really kick their second in command out of the group? He knew Damon would, He was always jealous of Brian. He just couldn’t risk it! Brian was so far gone into his own world, When Rob snapped his fingers, it instantly shocked him out of his daze. ‘Are you going to tell me or what?’ Rob asked. He had been waiting awhile for Brians reply. ‘What did you do to her?’ ‘Oh, She had a lip piercing, I pulled it out’. He told his friend sullenly, Something Rob instantly picked up on. ‘Anyway, What did you do to that Charlotte chick?’ ‘I used the vice on her arm, nearly broke it. Caused some serious damage though’ He didn’t say it with pride like he normally would. ‘Do you regret it?’ Robs question caught Brian off guard. ‘No, Don’t be f*****g stupid. Why the f**k would I?’ He asked, Deciding to lie, ‘Do you?’ ‘Yeah I do’. Brians' eyes bulged in surprise by Rob's answer. Grabbing the blood-stopped bedsheet, he turned to look at his friend, Maybe he heard him wrong. ‘Really?’ Rob nodded and sat down on the bed. ‘Dude, It killed me to do it but Damon was egging me on, Trying to wind me up and I thought if I did, I would feel better but…’ he trailed off. Not finishing his sentence. Brian dumped the sheet in his hamper and walked back over to his friend. ‘Yeah, I didn’t like doing it either’. He admitted. Rob looked at his mate and nodded, understanding. ‘Don’t tell the others though, OK? I don’t want them to do anything to hurt her or.. Me for that matter’. ‘Yeah, Don’t worry dude, I won’t say a f*****g word. I don’t trust Damon at the best of times. The dudes unhinged. I swear, I almost kicked the s**t out of him’ ‘Yeah, I can believe it!’ The friends stayed silent as they put new sheets on the bed when Rob suddenly shot up. ‘I’m going to go and get her’. He said, rushing out the room and heading back to the basement. Bri panicked and followed him. ‘Rob, What the f**k are you doing?!’ He yelled in a whisper, running to catch his friend. ‘I’m not leaving her down there like that. It's not right’ he snapped. ‘Are you gonna leave the other chick there?’ ‘Her name is Gina!’. Brian snapped back, Rob’s expression softened. ‘Right, I’m sorry dude, But are you?’ He asked again. Brian shook his head and rushed passed Rob to find Gina, No. He wasn’t going to leave her in the basement like a waste. The girls were asleep when they reached them, so the guys picked them both up and then reality hit. ‘Where do we take them?’ Bri asked Rob had no idea. ‘My room’. Looking at his friend in shock, Brian couldn't believe Rob's suggestion. ‘Well, the guys don’t come in my room without me or my permission and do you really think Gina would wanna wake up back in your bedroom after before’. He had a point. ‘Right so come on’. Quietly, and without being noticed, Brian and Robert managed to carry both girls up the stairs and to the bedroom. Resting them softly on the bed, Rob grabbed a couple of blankets from the cupboard and covered them up. Brian took it upon himself to go and get a damp towel; ‘Whats that for?’ His friend asked. Bri walked over to Gina and started wiping the dried blood from her mouth until it was all gone. Once the girls were clear, warm and safe, Robert and Brian decided to head downstairs and get a well-deserved beer, but as they left the room, they didn’t notice the sisters had woken up.. And heard every single word...
