Chapter 22We stayed over an extra day at Turtle Crick for Matthew to make certain the pigeons were bonded to the farm. Then he showed Libby how to take them out for short flights. As she had undertaken the care and feeding of Patch, we made good our intent and gifted her with the pony. She was ecstatic. Given the recent flare-up over the pinto, I handed over a piece of paper conveying title to Liberty Belle Tiller. On Wednesday, we left the buckboard, which was a spare, at Turtle Crick for our later use. I was on Arrow when we departed on the return trip to the Mead.
