C h a p t e r T w o T A Y L O R woke up when he heard knocks from his bedroom door. Chester was still sleeping so he opened the door immediately so he wouldn't wake up from the noise. It was Ella, of course and she looked like confused and worried. "Someone's looking for you." She said. "Who in this early hour will look for me." Ella shrugged her shoulders. Taylor scratched his head and closed the door. He marched to the front door and opened it. He was surprised to see Xander outside in his gray suit. Taylor closed the door immediately but it was stuck. Xander's feet was blocking the door preventing it to close. "The hell?" "Why are you avoiding me?" Xander asked and yanked the door wider. "Do I even know you?" Taylor raised a brow. "No, but looks familiar, maybe." He said. "Hmm." Taylor frowned and tried to act the best way he could. He was staring at Xander as if analyzing him. He suits the black one he wore yesterday but he still looked good in gray though. C'mon, what am I thinking, Taylor thought, focus! "Nope, maybe not. Sorry." Taylor attempted to close the door again and this time Xander blocked it with his shoulder. Taylor could hear Ella whispering. "LQ?" He just rolled his eyes and stared at Xander. "I will sue you for trespassing!" Taylor said while pushing the door close and Xander was pushing the door open. His hands were trembling already, Xander was strong and he didn't think he could still go on. His hands were aching already. "Do that. I'm not scared." He said calmly. Taylor was gritting his teeth and narrowed his eyes making his small Asian eyes disappeared in a line. He was always teased at school because of his small eyes. Though his mother and father didn't look like Asian, but his great grandmother at his mother's side was and he was the only one who inherited her genes. "Who's that, papa?" He heard Chester said. Judging his voice, he just woke up. "Who's that?" Xander asked and leaned his head to the left to look inside and Taylor also leaned his head to his right to block Xander's view. "My son." Taylor said leaning his head to his left when Xander leaned his head to the right. They kept on shifting their heads, Xander trying to look inside and Taylor blocking. "Go inside the room, Chester." He heard the closing of the door. "Why won't you let me look?" Xander said annoyed. "Are you hiding something or someone?" Xander emphasized the last word. "Ha! Hiding? What will I hide? And why do you want to look inside?" "I can see it on your eyes. You're afraid, Mr. Harrison." Xander's blue gray eyes staring straight on his eyes. Xander was true and Taylor couldn't deny that fact. He pursed his lips together guiltily and sighed. Maybe it was best to tell him the truth? But he was afraid of loosing Chester. And was he even the father? His grip on the door loosened and he let Xander pushed it open wider. "Fine." Taylor said in surrender but it didn't mean he was giving up his nephew. ° ° ° "How are you related to Cheska Harrison?" Xander asked while looking to the framed pictures hanged on the wall. It was Cheska with Taylor smiling together like they were so close. Cheska's face was the same face Xander could recall way back seven years ago. The same smile that he fell in love with, the same everything. "We're siblings." Taylor said. Xander turned his head snappily to Taylor, frowning and he looked back to the picture. "Ha?" They didn't looked a like. Taylor looked more like someone from the Asia and his eyes seemed like it were stretched to its sides. Xander looked to the next picture which he guessed was Cheska's parents. She looked like her father. "In law?" "No!" Taylor said. Xander heard the clanging of glasses and ceramics. He looked to the parent's picture again but neither of them looked like Taylor. He frowned. "You're not the first person to asked me that." Xander turned his heel and Taylor offered him a mug of coffee. He murmured his thanks before getting the mug. Xander felt nervous. According to Taylor's reactions, his guess was correct. That that kid who undoubtedly looked like him which he first saw at the bookstore was his son. Everything were becoming clear. He thought it was his son at those girls that he hooked up before but it turned out to be Cheska. She was his first love. And the longest relationship he had. Three years. But it was a secret relationship. He once introduced her to his family and the thing was, his grandmother was displeased about their relationship. His grandma said that they weren't cut to be together because it would be like meeting heaven and earth. They broke up after that but made up again because he couldn't let her go. They secretly met during weekends. But things changed after they had s*x for the first time. She acted like she was afraid over something. He even asked her if she was threatened by his grandmother or family but she denied it. He thought their love would get stronger after that act but it was the opposite. She grew farther and farther away. She didn't even finished her studies and dropped out of school and moved far away. They didn't had closure. And then one day he found out a kid in a bookstore that looked like him and it happened to be his kid. It was fate. He got her pregnant and maybe it was the reason why she dropped out to school but why didn't she told him? She was afraid. But afraid of what? He glanced to the picture hanged near the kitchen entrance. It was Chester laughing. He really did looked like him when he was young. No doubt that Chester was his son. "That's Chester when he was five years old." Taylor said. "How old is he now?" Xander asked and placed the mug on the center table and sat on a settee. "Six." Taylor said briefly. Six years and he didn't know that he had a son. Xander lift his head when he heard a door creaked open and saw the same kid in the store accusing him as a stalker for asking him few questions. The kid pointed his index finger to him stunned. "You're that stalker!" Chester said and he found himself smiling. What an energitic boy, he thought. "What is he doing here, papa?" "He. . . he wanted to see you." Taylor said. "Why?" The young boy stared at him. Taylor sighed. "Because he's your—" "Father?" Chester interrupted. Taylor and Xander was stunned. "Is he here to claim me? I'm not going anywhere with him!" Chester said furious. "Of course no!" Taylor said. "I won't agree." Xander's eyes met with Taylor's. Part of Xander's plan was to get Chester to be in his custody. He was the father after all. And for six years, he didn't know he already became a father. It overwhelmed him and Chester could be the reason to stop that marriage his mother arranged. "You won't give me to him?" Chester pointer him and he was hurt. His own son was rejecting him but he couldn't blame him. "No! No, I-I won't." Taylor pursed his lips. "I believe you." Chester said and he could see sadness on his eyes and his expression went back to normal when he looked at Xander. Chester slowly walked to his direction. Cautious. Then stopped in front of him. He didn't know what to do. He never thought about that kind of thing. He had a son now. He kneeled in front of Chester to make their eyes level and looked at him for a minute before he pulled him in a hug. There was no doubt about it. Chester was his. From the color of his hair and eyes, his nose and shape of his lips. All his facial features belonged to him. It looked like he was looking to a mirror and the image reflected was him when he was still a child. His mom and especially his dad would be happy to know about Chester. One of the reason why his mom pushed him to that marriage was because they already wanted to see their grandson. He didn't know why, it would only made them realized that they're already old. "I'm called Alexander Dobson." He said after the hug and smiled. "Chester Harrison." Chester gave him a small smile. "So I'll call you dad since I'm calling Taylor papa, if it's okay with you." Chester said in a business like tone. "Of course!" He said amused. "Of course, please call me that." He glanced at Taylor and he curved a smile on his lips when their eyes met. He turned to face Chester again and framed his small head with his hands. "Thank you." He murmured and kissed his son's forehead before he stood up. ° ° ° They had breakfast together with Ella, Taylor's friend and whom they shared the unit with. They talked about their jobs and stuffs then Cheska. He was surprised about Cheska's death. He also learned a little lot of stuff about Taylor and Chester. Of how Taylor had to sacrificed everything for little Chester. The two shared a bond more than an uncle and a nephew. Taylor walked him to the elevator. He thought Taylor had something to say to him but he was just silent on their way. "Thank you." Xander said to Taylor when they reached the elevator. Taylor just nodded and cracked a smile. The elevator was packed and he was already late for his work. °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
