IZZY’S POV
The morning felt heavier than usual.
Shantel was lying down beside me on the bed, one of her hands thrown lazily over my body, as if she didn’t want to let me go. And Sarah, on the other hand, was restless. She paced back and forth in the room like a lion in a cage, with her phone held onto her ear.
After she sent that message to her dad, he called her instantly, and since then, they have been on a call.
Her voice was sharp, full of anger. “I don’t care, Dad. I’m not marrying him.”
Then a short pause.
“No, you’re not listening to me. I don’t like Killian, and I’m not going to pretend I do just to make you happy.”
I just stayed quiet on the bed. But my stomach was twisting with every word I heard her say. I was kind of scared for her, but at the same time, I was happy
