Izzy’s POV
Sarah did not immediately respond to Brandon’s message. She just sat down there like she couldn’t move, her phone was in her hand, and she was staring at it like she had seen something unreal.
Her eyes were wide open, like she was still in utter shock. She opened her mouth to speak, but her voice failed her; she closed it back. and her lips pressed into a thin line. She moved her hands to type on the keyboard, but it was like she couldn’t think of what to say.
I touched her arm gently. “Relax, Sarah, just breathe,” I whispered like my words could calm her down. “Let’s just go back to our dorm room, okay?”
She nodded her head slowly, and she still looked like her brain had not still processed the message well enough.
