I lift a piece of bacon from my plate and bring it to my lips while I look around the table in front of me.
A happy family.
That was what anyone would think when they took in the scene that we were currently creating, but if only they knew the unease and the awkwardness that was truly plaguing us all.
When my father said that he was going to remarry, I didn’t think much of it.
He was an adult and it had been a while since my mother’s death, so who cares if he marries again?
But when he told me that the woman he was marrying was the wife of the late beta of Ridgewood and nothing more than an omega, I began to form a bit of hesitation. However, that turned out to be absolutely nothing when he brought up the fact that she had a daughter and that her daughter was wolfless.
