Captain Sludge peered around the corner, his serrated teeth glinting in the afternoon sun. Squeezing his battle-axe he said, “Go ahead and try, Dali. But it’s too late. The wall exists and I will use it.” He ducked back behind the brick building, bent down on one knee, and tapped the cobblestones with the butt end of his axe. The pavement groaned and sighed. A hole appeared just large enough for a hunchbacked soldier to pass through. There were multiple staircases rising from his underground home in Subterranea and all led to different lands. Over the years Sludge had created hundreds of openings just like this to cross over and attack. He raised the axe skyward. “Shadow, muck, and whither wall. Listen servants to my call. A waging war is ours to win. I call for help from my minions.”
