The sun was glaring down at the surrounding landscape and slowly warming the cold atmosphere of the winter morning. It was evidently cold still, because when I opened the door to exit the backseat of the car, I felt the cold brush up against my skin and face. It sent a shiver up my spine that I ignored in favor of looking up at what was looming over our heads when the car was driving down the U-shaped driveway. As I had anticipated, the town was built on the center of a forested area. The Florentino Manor, a simple shaped neoclassical architecturally styled mansion in the shape of an L with two separate but same-shaped buildings built at a 90 degree angle, was secluded, like the Maddison farm, in an open area surrounded by trees.
