As the sun sank behind the roofs of the suburban houses, making room for the dark blue and deep purple night sky, the coldness of the winter atmosphere began to flow in through the long sleeves of my uniform's shirt. My skin was suffering, but I had to welcome in the guests by the door. The first car to come to a halt by the side of the street dropped off an older lady in a green dress. She basically had no expression on her face, but when she saw me standing by the door, a new and younger face in the house, she lifted her chin and walked past me without a word.
