Anastasia After looking around for thirty minutes Claire eyes land on the perfect dress for Ana I think we should go for something bold,” Claire said, pulling out a sleek, black knee-length dress. “This would look amazing on you.” Ana took the dress, admiring the simple yet striking design. “You have an eye for these things. How’s ‘Drizzle’, by the way?” “Busy,” Claire replied as Ana headed to the fitting room. “I’ve been swamped with custom cake orders lately. Honestly, I’m thinking of expanding the team soon. I love the rush, though—it means the café’s doing well.” Ana emerged from the fitting room in the black dress, and Claire’s face lit up. “That’s it, Ana. You look incredible.” Ana turned to the mirror and smiled. The dress felt perfect—sophisticated but with a fun twist, exactly what she needed. “You’re a lifesaver, Claire.” “Of course. And now you’re ready for whatever the night throws at you,” Claire said as they headed to the cashier. After shopping, they made their way to ‘Drizzle’, Claire’s bakery café. The familiar warmth of fresh bread and pastries greeted them as they walked in. Claire waved to a few regulars, and the staff smiled at her, clearly admiring their boss. As they settled into a corner table with their coffee and pastries, Claire asked, “So, are you excited for tonight? A girls’ night out with our high school crew—it’s been a while.” Ana laughed. “Yeah, it feels like forever since we all hung out. I’m really looking forward to it. We all need a break, especially after this week.” Claire nodded. “Same. I can’t wait to catch up with everyone. Plus, it’s always fun seeing where the night takes us.” They shared a smile, knowing that nights with their old friends always came with plenty of laughter, stories, and a touch of nostalgia. They knew that the stress of their busy lives will fade away when they will be sipping their drinks, ready to let loose and enjoying their evening out with the girls. After their brunch at ‘Drizzle’, Ana and Claire headed back to Ana’s to get ready for their night out. As the clock approached 7:00 PM, they both slipped into their outfits, eager to catch up with their high school friends at Gina’s bar—a place they had frequented since turning 21. Gina’s had become their go-to spot since early 80s, known for its vibrant atmosphere and friendly bartenders who always greeted them with a smile. The bar was a cozy mix of vintage decor and lively music, making it the perfect setting for a girls' night out. As they approached the entrance, they could hear laughter and the clinking of glasses from inside. “Ready to make some memories?” Claire asked, her excitement palpable. “Definitely,” Ana replied, adjusting her new dress. “I’ve been looking forward to this all week.” As they stepped inside, the warm glow of fairy lights and the buzz of conversation enveloped them. They scanned the room, spotting their friends already gathered at their favorite table in the back corner. “Over here!” one of their friends, Mia, called out, waving them over. The group erupted into cheers as Claire and Ana joined them, each receiving warm hugs and playful teasing. “Look at you two! You both look amazing!” Mia exclaimed, eyeing Ana’s dress with approval. “I knew you’d find something perfect.” “Thanks! Claire picked it out,” Ana said, giving Claire a playful nudge. “Of course! I always have the best taste,” Claire joked, taking a seat beside Mia. As they settled in, the group quickly caught up on life—sharing stories about work, relationships, and the ups and downs of adulting. Drinks flowed, laughter echoed, and soon they were reminiscing about their high school days. “Remember that time we all snuck out to go to that party?” Andrea (one of the friends) said, laughing at the memory. “We thought we were so rebellious!” “I still can’t believe we actually made it back without getting caught,” Claire chimed in, shaking her head at the memory. “And look at us now,” Mia teased, nudging Ana. “You and I are the only ones still single after all these years! You’ve got to get back out there! It’s been years since you broke up with high school boyfriend. Your ex, Josh was toxic psychopath and you deserve better than that!” Ana laughed, playfully rolling her eyes. “I know, I know! But honestly, I’m enjoying my independence right now. Plus, I have a firm to look after and I have fabulous time hanging out with you guys!” Claire smiled knowingly, giving Ana a supportive look. “You’ll find someone when you’re ready. For now, we’re just here to have fun!” "Mia chimed in, 'Yeah! While Claire’s busy being all affectionate with her boyfriend Andrew Callahan!' But who would have thought Andrew, the geek from highschool, would now be a dashing CEO of a big biotech company?" “Hey! Don’t knock my relationship,” Claire laughed. “Andrew’s been great, and it’s nice to have that stability while you’re all out having flings with guys double your age, Mia! As far as I know, you’re technically single because jumping from one guy to another for money isn’t really like being in a relationship, right?." The air had gotten slightly tense after that remark. Yet conversation moved on seamlessly after one of the girls Stephanie changed the subject and they started conversing about everything from nostalgia to plans for the future, and life updates. They discussed career aspirations, travel dreams, and everything in between. Ana felt a sense of belonging as she listened to her friends share their stories. “Okay, but let’s talk about the real reason we’re here,” Isabella (another friend)said with a mischievous grin. “What’s the plan for tonight Claire? Dance party? Flirting with strangers? Or just a chill hangout?” “Definitely a dance party!” Claire declared, raising her glass. “Let’s celebrate us, our friendship and this moment!” As the night wore on, the music got louder, and the atmosphere became even more electrifying. The group finished their drinks and made their way to the dance floor, where they let loose, moving to the beat of their favourite songs. Ana felt liberated, laughing and dancing with her friends, the stress of the week completely forgotten.
