A Heart Turned to Stone
The world had changed in six years. Skyscrapers rose higher, technology advanced, and businesses flourished. But for Mav, the biggest change wasn’t in the world—it was in himself.
The man who once believed in love had died the day Isa disappeared.
Now, he was ruthless, emotionless, and feared.
Inside a high-rise conference room, a long table stretched before him, filled with businessmen in designer suits. Their voices blended in a meaningless hum as they debated over a multimillion-dollar deal. Mav sat at the head of the table, his fingers tapping against the cold surface, his brown eyes sharp and calculating.
"Mr. Blackwood, we believe this partnership will be mutually beneficial—"
Mav’s voice cut through the air, cold and authoritative.
"I don’t do ‘mutually beneficial.’ I do dominance. If you want this deal, you’ll play by my terms."
A tense silence filled the room. No one dared to argue. Maverick Blackwood wasn’t a man to be crossed.
With a nod, the documents were signed, and just like that, another empire fell under his control.
But none of it mattered.
No matter how many companies he took over, no matter how much wealth he accumulated—he still dreamed of her.
At night, when the world was silent, his mind tormented him with memories of Isa’s laughter, the way her blue eyes sparkled when she was happy, the warmth of her touch.
And then, he’d wake up—alone.
Just like he had been all his life.
A Life Rebuilt
Thousands of miles away, in the bustling streets of India, Isa carried a small boy in her arms as she walked through a crowded market. Aiden, her son, her entire world.
"Mommy, can we get the big chocolate today?" Aiden’s bright blue eyes—so much like hers—sparkled with excitement.
Isa chuckled, brushing his dark hair back. "Only if you promise to finish your vegetables tonight."
"I promise! Cross my heart!"
Before she could respond, Aiden squirmed out of her arms and dashed forward.
"Catch me if you can, Mommy!" he laughed, his small legs carrying him through the street as he weaved between vendors.
Isa gasped, pretending to be horrified. "Oh no! My little boy is running away!" She chased after him, her laughter echoing through the marketplace.
People around them smiled at the heartwarming sight—a mother and her child, lost in their little world of happiness.
As they shopped, a familiar voice called out.
"Someone is spoiling their little prince again."
Isa turned to see Dr. Dev Malhotra approaching, his white coat draped over his arm. His warm smile was as familiar as the comfort he had provided her over the years.
"Uncle Dev!" Aiden cheered, jumping into his arms.
Dev ruffled the boy’s hair before glancing at Isa. "You know, you should really stop giving in to his puppy eyes. One day, he’s going to use that against you."
Isa laughed. "He already does."
The three of them walked together, talking about simple things—Aiden’s school, Dev’s hospital cases, and the small moments of happiness that made life worth living.
Later that evening, back home, Isa and Aiden sat on the floor, surrounded by blankets, as they built a pillow fort.
"Mommy, we need to protect our castle from the dragon!" Aiden declared, holding up a toy sword.
Isa gasped, playing along. "Oh no! The dragon is coming! What do we do, my brave knight?"
"We fight, of course!" Aiden giggled, swinging his tiny sword at an invisible enemy.
Isa laughed, grabbing a pillow and pretending to shield them. "We won! The kingdom is safe!"
Just then, Dev walked in, shaking his head with amusement. "Let me guess—another battle?"
"Uncle Dev, you missed it! We defeated the dragon!" Aiden cheered.
Dev smirked. "Well, I hope there’s room for one more knight in this kingdom."
They spent the rest of the evening laughing, playing, and forgetting the past.
For years, Isa had tried to move on. She had built a life for herself, raised her son with love, and surrounded herself with good people.
But no matter how much she tried, a part of her heart was still stuck in the past.
A part of her still missed him.
The Unfinished Chapter
The world had changed in six years.
Mav had become a king in his empire, ruling with an iron fist. His name alone struck fear in people’s hearts.
Isa had built a quiet life, away from the chaos, pouring all her love into her son.
But fate wasn’t done with them yet.
Their unfinished story was waiting to be written.
And soon, their paths would cross again.
Neither of them were ready for what was coming next!!.
