Michael stumbled out after Adam and into the living room. No one else seemed to occupy the house, all known heartbeats came from the back yard. His mate walked off in that same direction, and would stop for that black coffee drink on his way into the back. A fall of twisted brown locks over the arm of the couch made him pause and backtrack. The sigh from the body on the couch was loud in the otherwise empty room. “Zophiel.” Michael smiled as he came to stand next to his brother, stretched out in a loose sprawl on the length of it. “After Levi’s ire at you, I am surprised you are still here.” “Yeah, well, I was walkin’ out in the pitch black. Good way to end up dead in these parts.” Zophiel lifted up into a seated position, but would not meet his eyes even as Michael sat down next to him
