The sun felt good on his back that morning, despite the heaviness of the humid air. He felt better after Vanessa showed up, as Courtney seemed to return to herself a while later. Their conversation from earlier gnawed at him. He hated the feeling that there was someone else involved in their relationship, and there was nothing he could do about it.
