Being away at college was a strange experience. She"d been at UD for two years, so when she returned to Ohio after a quick trip to Phoenix that summer, she wasn"t sure whether to say she was leaving home or headed home.
It had turned into a bigger argument than was normal when Ethan told her he couldn"t go to Arizona with her. Even now, as she walked through the airport and searched for his face, it stung that he wasn"t arriving with her. It wasn"t that he"d had to work; she"d known that would be an issue. It was just that it didn"t feel like it was because of work. It felt like he didn"t want to go because he might miss a show at one of the local dives where he played.
