(Maria POV)
I went back to the pack house, but I was unable to sleep. I was waiting for them to return, too, but they didn’t come back until the early hours of the morning. They walked towards their room, and a single tear rolled down my cheek when their words echoed in my mind.
“I shouldn’t do that. I hurt them a lot, and they are bearing this pain because of my foolishness,” I had no one to blame but myself for letting him do this to me. They warned me again and again about Xavier’s cunning nature, but I was too blind to see what was right in front of my eyes.
“Maybe, I didn’t belong here. I should leave this pack, so they can finally live their lives in peace like before,” I said to myself, and closed my eyes to get some sleep. I need a solid plan to leave the premises of this pack
