The pack house was still, but inside, everything felt too hot, too alive.
Maria couldn’t sleep. She hadn’t been able to since the attack. The way Luca had almost killed her. The way the wolf had looked at her with those golden eyes, full of desperation.
It had shaken her.
And now, her body was betraying her.
The temperature in her room had spiked, and her skin tingled. She wanted to touch it, to feel the air crackle, but she held herself back because she knew.
