Chloe awoke with a gleaming smile on her face, knowing that today was her eighteenth birthday and that she would soon be able to meet her wolf. She wondered if her words had reached Derek or if the guards had simply anticipated her birthday and decided to give her some freedom.With her newfound independence, she went for a walk in the woods behind the house.The voice said, "Hi," and she knew it was her wolf's voice in her thoughts.Her wolf introduced herself as Diamond, clearly as thrilled to finally meet Chloe as Chloe herself."Nice to meet you, Diamond. My name is Chloe .Talking to her made her feel like they belonged together, which was a pleasant sensation.I asked, "Are you ready for this?" Diamond asked directly, ready to reveal her true identity and skin tone.Chloe answered, "As ready as I will ever be." She had waited a lifetime to meet her other half and hoped that her wolf would be as resilient as she was to give her strength in the face of the difficulties she was facing.The air rang with the sound of bones breaking until it was drowned out by Diamond's faint roar. A huge white wolf proudly stood there.After seeing her wolf for the first time, Chloe remarked, "We are big." She had assumed her wolf pup would be about the same size as any other wolf pup.Diamond said, "And unique," implying that their abilities were special but not explicitly stating that they were.

Diamond liked the feeling of the grass beneath her paws, the gentle breeze on her fur, and the way time seemed to slow down as she ran as quickly as her paws could carry her when Chloe said, "Wanna sprint around?"She sprinted all the way to the castle before tripping and falling over the realization that someone was following her.His aroma was so alluring that she could not ignore him.The word "mate" came out of her mouth, and Chloe couldn't believe what she was hearing.She argued, "No, he can't be our mate;" she couldn't be wed to the guy who had killed her parents and siblings.The man who caused her so much anguish and suffering claimed that she was his Luna, and so he had the right to keep her as his slave.Because of Chloe 's recollections, Diamond understood what had happened and realized that the man she had just recognized as her mate was the reason Chloe was so unhappy and lonely, even though she was trying to hide it.Alpha Derek observers on the balcony spotted Chloe , a silvery-white wolf, rushing through the area. He stared at her intently until she raised her eyes.He was convinced she realized he was her mate at that same moment, but he was even more certain that their relationship wouldn't affect her feelings toward him. He returned to the castle on foot.Diamond let out a faint cry in agony; they were both so distressed that they couldn't move or utter a word.

Learning the truth was heartbreaking; it obliterated the few minutes they had been joyful earlier; it obliterated the tranquil moments they had been enjoying.Diamond sat in the rain, crushed and hurt, while the cloud, sensing their sorrow, dumped its contents on her.She pleaded with the goddess of the moon as to why he was the one to suffer.Why did she have to get married to the guy who killed her family?They broke into a thousand little pieces.Chloe stayed home for days, sobbing uncontrollably, convinced that her life was meaningless and that she would never be able to escape her current situation.Nobody could comfort her because she didn't want to be helped; all she wanted was a different outcome.

Every night she could feel the strain growing harder as it weighed itself down on her, so she sat in her chamber at night and let out a dark scream, expressing her wrath.She despised him so much that she would sooner die than be his mate. She sat on the floor and cried until she fell asleep.The next morning, Chloe woke up with an overwhelming desire to eat. She hurried to the kitchen to prepare something for herself, but once she was finished, she realized that food wasn't what she needed because her internal temperature was already too high.As in, "Diamond, what's going on?" She questioned the only person she felt could know the solution.Diamond told her, "You are going through heat," but she had never heard of it before and wasn't given the chance to learn about it.She felt an overwhelming desire to satisfy her s****l needs.

Since Chloe 's temperature was high enough to attract any guy, the neighborhood guards had gathered outside her home in an attempt to break in, and Beta Arthur and Gamma Edward were among them. Lucian battled hard to keep the men from entering the house as they guarded the door; the others could feel it, too, but kept it under control out of respect for Alpha Derek and the concept that Chloe was his Luna.All the males stiffened and cowered in horror as Alpha Derek approached the house, growling loudly and ordering his beta and gamma to evacuate the residents.After they left, he waited a moment to mentally prepare for the outcome before opening the door.With her rationality gone and her awareness of the current world absent, Chloe lay on her body, caressing it.She sensed a man was there, but her lust prevented her from recognizing him; she either didn't realize it was Derek or, if she did recognize him, she dismissed him as only an average guy.She sprang at him, her lips crashing against his.

When asked how powerful her heat had to be for her to not realize it was him, Derek was taken aback by the harshness of the kiss.He quickly returned the kiss, holding her in his arms. It would be a lie to claim he didn't long for this, because he did every night—he just kept that longing buried deep within his ice-cold heart.When Chloe took the initiative, it unleashed all those urges, and he gave in. He laid her on the bed and kissed her passionately, his tongue probing her mouth and relishing the taste.Chloe had already ripped his shirt off, leaving his body exposed; her hands trailed his body, erupting sparks from their skin contact; he unzipped her dress and trailed kisses all over her body; Chloe moaned from the pleasure; she wanted him badly and couldn't wait; she removed her dress independently and looked him squarely in the eyes; Derek thought she had regained her senses and paused, but she pulled him down, joining their bodies.She made a muffled moan and dragged her head, then she moved to make room for his member, and Derek followed her, slamming into her as he slipped into her wet folds and enjoyed the pleasure of his mate.As he continued to work his way deeper inside her, he remarked, "You are so tight."Chloe distracted herself by yanking up and digging her nails into his back.

Knight almost made a critical error that would have disastrous consequences for him and Derek.When Knight said, "Why can't we mark her?" he was looking for an excuse to avoid doing what he wanted most."Because.." Chloe was their mate and the only person Derek had ever wanted to keep for himself, so he didn't know what to say.Knight responded, "You can't even answer it," and he shut himself in the closet.When Chloe 's patience with Alpha Derek wore thin, she sat above him and took charge.

They fought for hours, finally ending with her surrendering to sleep in his arms late that night.At midnight, when Alpha Derek knew for sure that her heat was gone, he returned to his castle apartments, leaving a pillow beneath her head and covering her body.He curled his fist in rage as he sat on his bed and contemplated what he had done to Chloe 's virginity.
