The Abused Lycan and Her Mates

Chapter 15

Gabriel POV

I smelled them before I saw anyone. My beast was on edge after seeing what Violet was able to do with fire but we didn’t have time to marvel in her power. I link Cameron to get to the lake fast and bring guards with him. When they arrive, I tell Violet to run. I need her safe and away from the fight. I don’t want her to see what I am cable of doing but I also don’t wany anyone to harm her.

When she takes off back towards the coven with Noah right behind her. I can focus on the fight without fear of what’s going to happen to her. There are at least thirty rouges coming at us. I shift and take off towards the biggest looking one. We are struggling keeping then at bay. There is something strange about how they fight.

I am caught up with fighting the one rouge in front of me that I don’t sense the one coming at me with a blade. Cameron jumps in but the blade goes into his chest. I hear an ear piecing scream and know that it was Violet. All I see is red at this point. I go after the one who stabbed Cameron and kill him right away. There is a wave of heat that rushes past me and I turn to see Violet running out of the tree line with fire in her hands.

She releases the fire and a flame comes flying around us. I don’t feel the heat as it pushes past over me. I watch as the rouges burn when the flame touches them. As fast as it appeared, the wall of fire disappears. I watch as Violet runs to Cameron. I take off to them and whimper when we arrive. This can’t be it.

I hear Violet begging Noah for help and watch as he places her hand over the wound on Cameron’s chest. I see a light glow but then it’s gone. “Mate used to much power” my beast says. This can’t be happening. I can’t lose Cameron. I start to panic and shift back. I pull Cameron into my lap and cradle him to my chest. Violet places her head on his chest crying out in pain. Cole places a hand on my shoulder and I look to him for help.

“Gabe, you know what to do” he tells me. I shake my head. “Not like this” I say back but I know if I don’t he will die. Cameron places his hand on my cheek and I look down to him. “I accept you Gabe” he says before closing his eyes. Violet is whimpering on his chest and my beast takes over before I can think about anything else.

I bite into Cameron’s neck marking him. My teeth dig in and his blood fills my mouth. I drink down his blood as I bite harder letting my beast take charge. I look to see Violet looking right at me and I feel sick to my stomach. I was expecting her to look at me with anger or some type of negative emotion but she lays her head back down like she is listening to Cameron’s heart beating. I pull away from Cameron’s neck and lick my lips and then lick my mark on Cam's neck.

I feel sick to my stomach for what I just did. I acted before I could even think. I know I am going to have to explain to Violet about what it means to bare my mark but I never thought it would be after marking Cameron. Hell, we never even talked about and I took that choice away from him. I am the worst mate ever. How could I just do that? Then there is Violet. She has been through so much and now she just saw me mark our mate and drink his blood. She is never going to let me mark her like this.

I watch as Cole and Violet work to get a pair of shorts on Cameron. Cole takes Cameron from my arms and I whimper at the lose of him in the arms. I feel a pair of hand on my arms and see that Violet is kneeling in front of me. “We need to get you dressed Gabe. Cole said we need to get Cameron home.” She says in a soft voice. I nod my head and stand up. She helps me get my shorts on and wraps her arms around me.

I look to Uncle Cole, who is still holding Cameron in his arms. “Let’s go Gabriel. We need to leave as soon as we can. We have to get him back home to be monitored. We don’t know what is going to happen since he was wounded when you marked him” Cole tells me but I am too numb to think. I feel someone pulling me and I follow.

I watch silently while Violet and Noah are barking out orders to the guards to load up. They make sure everyone is set and ready to leave as soon as we got back to the coven. They even put the seat down in one of the SUVs to create a bed for Cameron to lay done on. I watch as Violet and Noah say goodbye to Jasper and Jewels before heading back to where I am standing. Cole sets Cameron in the SUV and I climb in after him. I lay down next to him and hold him to me.

Violet climbs in next and places a gentle kiss on my cheek before laying on the other side of Cameron. Violet curls up and is half laying on him with her head on his chest. She closes her eyes and her breaths even out like she is sleeping. I look up to see Cole driving with Noah in the passenger seat. I look back to my two mates sleeping hoping that they both are ok. I close my eyes and try to take a few breaths. I feel my senses start to return and run through the events that happened but Noah’s voice pulls me out of my thoughts.

“Hey man, don’t beat yourself up over saving his life” Noah says from the front seat. I huff out a breath. He is right. “Sorry, I just never thought it would be like this” I tell him with a somber tone. “I get it. You wanted to talk to your mate first and make sure he was good everything but he said before he passed out that he accepted you. I would take that as his permission to do what you needed to do” Noah tells me and he has a point. I was just so wrapped up in losing him that I didn’t think.

I look up to see him watching Violet sleeping curled up next to Cameron. “She trusts you both. After she told me about everything she went through, I am shocked that she is that comfortable to sleep like that around you. But that must be the mate bond at work.” Noah says a shrug. I chuckle at his comment. “Did she tell you how she attacked me and held a blade to my throat” I asked him.

He chuckles and shakes his head. “Not about the blade to your throat but yeah she said that she attacked you” he shakes his head. “Prince Gabriel, I am only going to ask that you keep her safe. I can’t lose her again. When I woke up after everything and not having her next to me, I was a shell of a person until Rosa helped me move forward.” I am shocked that he is this open with me. “Please, call me Gabriel or Gabe. I am one of your sister’s mates and I promise that I will do everything in my power to keep her safe.” I tell him.

We are quiet for a few hours until we make a stop to refuel. I don’t want to leave their side but I need to get some food. Noah must pick up on it since he calls back. “What do you want to eat? I can bring something back for you.” “Thanks Noah. Anything will do but can you make sure to get some candy for Violet too. She really enjoyed the chocolate bar we got her last time” I tell him. He nods his head and leaves the car.

I look back down to check on my mates. Violet is still out cold sleeping, curled around Cameron. He would be in heaven seeing her like this. I decided to take a quick picture on my phone. I carefully lift up Violet’s head to check the wound on Cameron’s chest. It’s starting to heal and I breath out a sigh a relief. I close my eyes thanking the goddess I got to him in time.

I feel a hand lightly brush my cheek. I open my eyes to see Violet looking right at me. “How is he?” she asks snuggling back up on him. “He is healing.” I tell her. She nods her head but still reaches out for me. She places a hand over mine and squeezes. “I know this is hard on you Gabe. Please talk to me” She is the most amazing women ever. I let the tears fall. “I bit him without talking to him. I took that away from him. I was so worried you would hate me after seeing what I did to him and he would hate me from taking his choice away” I tell her.

She carefully gets up and pulls my head into her chest. “Gabe, you saved him. I am not going to hate you for doing that. When I felt the pain in my chest, I froze. My lycan and I tried everything we could to get to both of you. When we tried to help heal Cameron, I didn’t have any power left. I was not strong enough.” She tells me and I shake my head. “No, if anything love, you helped saved everyone that was fighting. You burned everyone who posed a threat to us. You saved us all.” I tell her.

I feel her fingers running through my hair and it helps calm me down. My beast is purring at our mate’s affection and attention. “Gabe, I accept you for you. I don’t think I ever told you that and I wanted to let you know especially after what happened to Cameron.” She tells me. I pull away to look at her. “You really mean that?” I ask her. She smiles at me and nods her head. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I lean in and kiss her on the lips.

She kisses me back and leans more into me. I don’t want to push her but man does it feel good to really kiss her. The door opening makes me pull away from her. I look to see her lips of red and slightly swollen from our kiss. I peck her lips again. Noah turns around and has a smile on his face. “I got food” he calls out. I chuckle and rub my nose against Violet’s nose before grabbing the bag of food from Noah.
