Chapter 17

Violet POV

Gabriel carries me back to his room and when we enter I look over to Cameron. He looks almost dead just laying on the bed. I worry about him not waking up and what it will do to Gabriel. Gabriel carefully places my feet on the ground but keeps a hold of me to make sure I am steady on my feet. I lean into him and place a kiss on his cheek before I turn and walk over to the bed. I sit on the edge and place my hand on Cameron's chest. Gabriel is pacing the room and I can feel the stress coming off him. I pull my hand away and slowly get off the bed to move towards Gabriel.

I move to stand infront of him and wrap my arms around his hips. He brings his arms around me and I feel wetness on my shoulder. “Gabe it’s going to be ok.” I tell him. I know that may not be the right thing to say but I want to be strong for him. “Love, can’t lose you or Cam. I don’t think I will be able to handle it.” He tells me as he breaks.

We slowly slid to the floor and I keep a hold of him. Gabriel eventually is curled on the floor with his head in my lap. I run my fingers through his hair while he cries into my lap. Eventually Gabriel stops crying and i hear a soft snoring sound coming form him. The door opens and I see his mother walk in. “I came to check in on you guys but I see that he is finally getting some sleep.” I nod my head look over to Cameron still sleeping on the bed.

Skylar brings a blanket over and covers Gabriel up. “It’s going to break him is Cameron doesn’t wake up.” I tell her. She nods her head and sits down next to me on the floor. “Violet, I had a feeling when they were first introduced to each other that they would be mates. As time went on, I saw that bond between then grow but it never fully clicked into place. Why do you think that is?” she asks me.

I sit there thinking and then I remember what I heard Cameron say. “They needed me. I was the missing piece.” I tell her. She nods her head. “You are strong and blessed with two amazing young men as your mates. The goddess knew that you would need support but she also knew that you all needed each other to get through whatever is coming.” I nod my head thinking about the man who held me captive for all those years. Then something clicks.

I look up to her. “Skylar, do you know if drinking the blood of an elemental can make you stronger?” I ask her. She thinks for a second and then looks back to me. “There is a chance that power can be gained from drinking their blood but I am not completely sure. Why do you ask?" I look to Gabriel and then to Cameron on the bed.

I sigh and lean back against the wall. “I think the man who kept me as his pet may have been part of the attack on my parents. He was stronger than a normal vampire and something seemed off with him.” I tell her. She leans closer to me and takes me hand. “Violet, this is not going to be easy but I know you will do what you can to protect them. I see the way you look at them.” She says with a smile.

I nod my head and return to running my fingers through Gabriel’s hair. Skylar sits with me a little longer before she must go to a meeting with the royal coven. She told me that she has a few people working on trying to track down a group of rouge vampires that are working with a group that claims to hold the power of the next true coven leader. I don’t understand the whole vampire titles and what not but it doesn’t sound good. I lean my head back agaisnt the wall and close my eyes.

“Uncle Keenan, I don’t know. I wish I could have done this differently. Hell, even Violet tried to heal him but she used too much power to kill all the rouges.” That was Gabriel’s voice. He must have woken up after and I must have fallen asleep at some point. I open my eyes to see that I am next to Cameron on the bed.

“Gabe, I don’t blame you for what you did. You saved his life by changing him. We will work through everything and take it one day at a time.” The man who must be named Keenan speaks. That must be Cole’s mate and Cameron’s other father. I hear Gabriel sigh and I pick my head to look around the room. I see a desk in the corner and bookshelves on the other wall. The bed has black and red bedding with a canopy style frame. It’s at least a king but maybe bigger. There are two door next to each other and I am guessing one of them is the bathroom while the other is closet. I also see some dark furniture to match the dark wood of the bedframe.

I try to get up but notice that Cameron has turned and has his arm around my waist holding me in place. That must mean a good sign right. I try to move his arm but he pulls me into him. I hear the door open and watch as Gabriel and an unknown man walk into the bedroom. Gabriel walks into one of the two doors and the man looks at me with a smile.

He walks closer to the bed and sits down. “So, you must be the famous Violet” he says. I nod my head. “I am Keenan. I am Cameron’s other father and Skylar’s beta” I try to move my hand but Cameron has me pulled so close to him I can barely move. “Sorry. I am Violet. It’s nice to meet you” I tell him in a shy voice. He chuckles and shakes his head.

“My dear Violet, you have nothing to be sorry for. He can sense that you are close and doesn’t want to let go. He was turned when he was close to death so, he is going to have a stronger reaction to when his mates are near.” Keenan tells me. Gabriel come back out of the door and I guess it’s the bathroom. “Uncle, I asked you not to wake her up” he says in a tired voice.

Keenan gives me a wink and then gets up. “She was already awake. I just didn’t want to be rude.” He tells Gabriel. Gabriel moves closer to me and kisses my cheek. “Are you hungry love?” he asks me. I nod my head and then my stomach growls. We all chuckle at the sound. “How long have I been asleep for?” I asked Gabriel. He sighs and then looks to Keenan. “Love, you have been asleep for three days. Noah said it was from using to much of your power at one time. The elemental wolf even agreed with Noah.” Gabriel tells me.

He looks to Cameron and smiles. “He may start waking up soon. He has been moving around a lot more the last couple hours.” I smile thinking about Cameron waking up soon. “I would be jumping with joy but he has a good hold on me right now” I tell Gabriel. They both chuckle and Gabriel shakes his head. “Love, I will be back with some food.” Gabriel tells me before getting up to leave the room.

I snuggle into Cameron more and close my eyes again. I feel Cameron shift and then someone nuzzling my neck. When I open my eyes, I see Cameron looking right at me. “Your awake” I gsped out. He smiles at me and nods his head. “I am glad that you are ok sweetheart” he says before kissing me. It’s a slow but quick kiss. He pulls back and looks at me. “I am so glad that you are awake. Gabriel is going to be so happy” I tell him.

Cameron smiles and nods his head. “He should feel that I am awake and he is excited.” Cam tells me. The next thing I heard is the door flying open and then Gabriel jumping into the bed. Gabriel turns Cameron to him and starts kissing him. When they pull apart, I can’t help the smile on my face. “How do you feel love?” he asks Cam. “My throat burns but over all ok” Cam tells Gabriel. “You need to drink soon Cam. I can have a cup ready in a few minutes or do you want to drink right from the source?” Gabe asks.

I am lost at what is happening. Cam chuckles and looks back to me. “Sweetheart, did he not tell you what happens when he changed me?” Cam asks. I shake my head no. “I have been sleeping for about three days” I tell him. Cam’s eyes go wide and looks me over for any injury. “I am fine. I just used to much of my power at one time.” I tell him He closes his eyes and nods his head.

Cam nuzzles into my neck again and Gabe’s eyes goes wide. “Cam, you need to pull away now” I look at Gabe and he looks worried. “Gabe what is happening?” I ask him as Cam licks my neck. I feel scared for a spilt second and then I realize his would never hurt me. “Cameron, you need to stop right now” Gabriel calls out but Cameron is not listening. “Violet, I need you to listen to me. He is thirsty and needs to drink blood. I was trying to offer him my blood since I know you at not ready for that yet. Even after you let drink from you.” I nod my head but Cameron growls at the movement.

“Violet, stay very still. He will not hurt you but I don’t think you want him to bite you on the neck.” I whimper at Gabriel’s words. Gabriel carefully moves closer to us and grabs my other wrist. “Do you trust me?” Gabriel asks me. “I trust you” I tell him. “I am going to cut your wrist to pull his attention to your wrist but he is going to bite when he catches the scent” I look at Gabriel and close my eyes. “I have complete trust in you Gabe. I know that you wont let anything happen to either us” I tell him.

I feel his nail on wrist and then a sharp tinge of pain. Cameron pulls his head from my neck and then licks the blood from my wrist. I feel the sharp sting of his fangs in my wrist. I open my eyes to look at Gabriel. He has a worried look still on his face. “I am so sorry Violet. I didn’t expect him to wake up so soon” I reach for Gabe and place my hand on his face. He leans into my hand and smiles.

Cameron soon pulls away from my wrist and licks it. A new mark forms but this one has a wolf head howling. Once Cameron comes back to himself, he covers his mouth with his hand. He is moving to get off the bed but falls on the floor. “Violet, I am so sorry” Cam says. I try to move closer to him but he keeps moving away from me.

It hurts that he moving away from me. Gabe gets up and looks to me. “Violet why don’t you go and get some food. I will talk to him.” I nod my head and move to the door. Noah just came out of his room and smiles when he sees me. “It’s good to see you are awake” he says but then looks worried. “What’s wrong sis” he asks as he moves closer to me.

“Cameron woke up and he fed from me but now he wont even let me near him.” I tell him before I start crying. Noah pulls me into his side and we walk back into his room. “Sis, it’s going to be ok. Cameron is probably in shock from what he did.” Noah tries to comfort me but it’s not working. It hurts that he didn’t want to be near me.

Noah holds me and has dinner brought up to his room for us. He also let’s the guards know that I am spending time with him and not to let anyone enter. After we eat, I feel a little better. “Alright lets talk. I know that it may have felt like he rejected you but he probably thought he hurt you.” Noah says. I look down at my lap and nod my head. “Your right. It still hurts regardless” I tell him.

He sighs and nods his head. “I understand sis. Lets focus on something else. I talked with the elemental wolf and got some more answers. We may have a problem facing the ones who killed mom and dad. The wolf told us that someone that consumes our blood once our power fully awakens can gain not only the gift but also strength. So we think that one who held you captive was one of the ones who killed mom and dad.” I am shocked by what he says.

“So do you think that he knew who I was and kept me alive until my powers fully awakened?” I asked Noah. “Honestly sis, I have no idea if he knew who you were.” He says but something doesn’t sit right. I get up and look out the window. “Noah, I have a bad feeling that he may have known who I was. Jewels and even Rosa said I look a lot like our mother.” I tell him.

I feel a cold shiver run down my spine and shiver. Noah comes up behind me with a blanket he places over my shoulders. “Sis, if that is the case then we need to work hard to get stronger together. I will not let him get his hands on you again.” Noah tells me. I lean into him and watch as the sunset from the window.

We end up watching a few movies and talking about what we are going to do tomorrow. Noah even tells me about our people and what it was like growing up with them. I enjoy listening to him talk about our people and can’t wait to have my memories back. I start yawning and eventually fall asleep while watching a movie.
