The Abused Lycan and Her Mates

Chapter 20

Violet POV

I was heart broken watching Noah’s mate run away from him but then I look at how protective my mates are of her. My lycan tells me she has been through something painful. I agree with her and look as my brother takes off in the direction his mate went. Gabriel and Cameron come up on either side of me and they both kiss my cheek. I look up to them and wait for someone to explain to me what happened but it looks like I am going to have to ask them.

I sigh and pull away from them. I turn so I can look at them both. “Are you going to tell me what she went through?” I asked hoping to get answer. Cameron looked to Gabriel and then sighed. “Why don’t you tell her Gabe.” Cam says before he walks over to the warriors who had stopped training. Gabriel nodded his head and placed his hand on the small of my back to lead me over to a bench to sit down.

Once we were seated, I watched as Cameron started to bark out orders to the warriors. I turned back to look at Gabriel but he was looking down at the ground. “She was found a few miles outside our territory. She was covered in blood and out cold on the ground. It was a cold spring morning when we found her.” I can’t help but feel for her. What had she survived and to make it almost here but only to come up short.

I placed my hand on Gabe’s arm feeling like this was hard for him to tell me. “She smelled like a rouge but I could still smell she was from a neighboring pack, so we stopped and took her back with us. The doctors were frantic when we brought her in and it took a few hours before they got her stabilized. When the nurse came out to give us an update, she had tears in her eyes. I thought the worse when she approached us but all she could say was how could her mate do this to her.” I felt my lycan growl and want to murder who hurt her.

I felt Gabe’s hand on mine and he gave it a squeeze. “What happened?” I asked wanting to know more. He closed his eyes before talking again. “When we got into the room, we saw the scarred area on her neck where she once had been marked. With all the wounds that she was covered in, we thought she was attacked but it wasn’t until three days later when she woke up that we finally got the whole story.” I felt like I was about to burst into tears. Did something bad happen to her mate and the pack she was from blame her and took it out on her?

Gabriel pulled me into his lap and must have sensed my emotions. “Love, calm down. It will be ok, trust me.” He tells me while I cuddle into his chest. “Please continue. I want to know what happened and how I can help my brother” I tell him. He kisses the top of my head and starts to talk again. “When she woke up and had something to eat, she started to tell us what happened. She was mated to the beta of her pack for about 2 years but was unable to produce an heir. She started to feel the pain of betrayal and when she approached her mate about it, he was caught with another she-wolf. She walked into the room and grabbed the she-wolf, ripping her away from her mate. Her mate was not happy about it but before she could kill the she-wolf, she stated that she was pregnant with the beta’s pup.”

I couldn’t help the growl that slipped out. Gabriel chuckled and slipped his hand under my shirt, rubbing small circles on my lower back. I calmed down and took a few deep breaths. “Julia told us that she dropped the she-wolf and turned towards her mate, who had a huge smile on his face. She said that he gave her a smirk and walked over to the she-wolf. He marked her in front of Julia and then rejected her. He then told the pack that she attacked the new beta female and to attack her. She barely made it out alive. Her Alpha was the one who helped her escape but they are related. He called me asking if she had made it on the first night that she was in the hospital. I told him the shape she was in but his hand were tied and couldn’t do anything without the council say so. Even my parents couldn’t do anything. So we offered for her to stay and become one of our warriors. She is one of the best female warriors we have but we do find her still struggling here and there when her old pack beta comes for the training sessions and meetings.” Gabriel finishes telling me and I can’t help but want to hurt poor excuse of male.

I stand up needing to do something. “Love, what wrong?” Gabriel asks me. “I just…” it’s no use hiding how I feel from him. He is my mate. “I am just so angry that he got away with treating her like that because she could not give him a pup. He needs to pay for what he did to her” I tell him and he stands up to pull me into his arms. “Love, I know how you feel and trust me, Cameron does not go easy on him when he comes here for training that we host each year.” He chuckles and I feel a little better. “Well, I am glad Cameron gets his hands on the bastard. He needs to bleed” I growl out. My lycan is pacing and anxious.

I feel Gabriel shift and I look up to him. His eyes are looking to the forest and I hear a noise. “Love, I need you to get back to the pack house. We have some visitors” he tells me but I stand my ground. “If I am your mate, I will be standing beside you.” I tell him. He smiles and looks to Cameron who is running over to join us. “You have to promise me to keep your cool love. We can’t have others find out about you yet” he tells me and I wonder why he told me that but then I hear Cameron growl.

I look to him and see that he is losing control of his beast. “Cameron, go and make sure that Julia is safe and make sure that Noah doesn’t do anything” Gabriel says and Cameron nods his head. I watch as Cameron runs off to find my brother and Julia. I take a deep breath and turn back to Gabriel who is watching me closely. “You are amazing, you know that right.” I am confused and he must see that on my face since he goes on to explain. “You don’t have to stand beside me since I have not officially made the announcement and you survived years of abuse and torture. When most people have been in your shoes they are shy and timid but you are standing strong next to me” he says with a smile.

I love his smile. I lean into him and place a kiss over his heart. “I am strong because I have both you and Cameron.” I tell him and pull apart when I sense the approach of an alpha. I turned to see a tall man with another man next to him a litter shorter him. But I also see three females and what must be a few warriors too. Gabriel takes a step forward and greets the alpha." Alpha Zane, to what do I owe this surprise visit?” Gabriel asks. “I am sorry Prince Gabriel for showing up unannounced but we have a problem and I would like to talk with you in private about it.” Gabriel nods his head and turns to me.

He leads me back to the packhouse with Alpha Zane behind us. When we reach what must be Gabriel’s office, we all enter except for the five warriors. Gabriel sits down and I stand to the right side of him. “Let’s begin” Gabriel said in a commanding voice. I can feel the authority oozing from him and knew that he was in alpha prince mode. My lycan was panting at the powerful sight of our mate showing his dominance.

Before Alpha Zane could say anything, the other man spoke up. “Sorry but that women needs to leave. As far as we know, you have not found a mate nor taken a chosen, so we don’t need to have some w***e listening in.” There was a low growl that came from Gabriel as he stood up but I placed my hand on arm. I smiled at him and took a deep breath. I turned to the beta and smiled. I made my way over to him and let the aura slip out. Noah taught me how to do it the other night and I watched as the beta was struggling to stay standing.

When I was standing in front of him, he had sweat dripping down his face. “As you have stated, Gabriel has not made the officially announcement but I am his mate. If you have a problem with the mate bond then you need to take a look in the mirror. You are lucky that I respect my mates and their rules. But since we are not officially mated, I can do this.” I say with malice in my voice. I punch him in the balls with everything that I have and watch as he falls to the ground whimpering.

Alpha Zane looked pale but did nothing to help his beta. “Love, you can’t go around punching out people. You could start a war.” Gabriel tells me and I can see that his is trying to hide his smile. I walk back over to him and kiss his cheek. “I can’t start a war and if there is a war it will be with my pack and not yours mate” I tell him and he shakes his head.

Alpha Zane looked at his beta, who is now passed out and I see the eyes of one of the females glare at me. That must be his chosen mate. My lycan growled. She wanted to sink her claws into her but I held her off. Gabriel wrapped an arm around me and pulled me into his lap. “Love, calm down. We can’t have you starting a war that his pack wont survive” At Gabriel’s words Alpha Zane looks at us. “What do you mean Gabriel?” Alpha Zane asked in a worried tone.

Gabriel chuckled before speaking. “Do you remember the silver claw pack?” Gabriel asked and I watched as Zane’s eyes go wide. “Yeah, I remember the pack. They were strong and could rival with the royal pack. Their Alpha and Luna had an aura that would make you want to bow down and follow them like the current King and Queen of the royal pack. But why would you bring up a pack that was destroyed?” he asked. I wanted to hide away but knew that this was going to be my future.

Gabriel looked to me and I nodded my head. If Gabriel trusted this alpha then I trusted him too. “Well, my lovely mate is the alpha female of the Silver Claw Pack. Her parent’s where the former Alpha and Luna.” Gabriel tells him and I watch as his eyes go wide again. “You mean, she survived. What about her brother? Are there any other survivors?” Alpha Zane asked in rapid fire. I smiled and nodded my head. “Yes, my twin brother in alive. He was leading a group of our people who managed to escapes during the attack” I tell him and he gives me a soft smile.

What he does next surprises me. “Everyone out. I need to speak with them alone.” Alpha Zane tells them. Once everyone was out or dragged out since the beta was still out cold, he turned towards me and bowed his head. Then I felt the air move around me. It was like a warm gentle breeze but how did that happen. When I looked to Alpha Zane his eyes where a brighter color. Gabriel started to laugh and shook his head. “I knew there was something about you” he said and I was confused for a second until Alpha Zane raised his head and looked at me. “I sent everyone out because there are some people who came along that I do not trust with my secret but I would say that you have an even bigger one” Zane says.

Gabriel is the first to talk. “How many in your pack know what that you are an elemental?” Zane looked down and shook his head. “Only my family. The only other person who I trusted was killed. He was my Gamma. His mate came with us but she is still struggling with the loss. They had just marked each other and found out the day of the attack that she was expecting.” Zane tells us and I can’t help but feel for her. “Why would you share such important information about yourself with us?” Gabriel asked him.

Alpha Zane looked at me and smiled. “I trust you both because, my mother knew your mother. My mother was also an elemental and they worked together until she met my father. When my parents had me, it was your parents that sensed that I would also be an elemental. They had a weird sense that could pick out if you were an elemental or not.” Zane said and I smiled at the memory he had shared with me. “Now my question is, who has the power over fire and how has the power over water?” Zane asked and I turned towards Gabriel.

I took a deep breath and looked back to Zane. “I have been gifted with the element of fire while by brother is water but my brother told me that I also have the other ability our mother had.” I tell Alpha Zane and his eyes light up. “You have a very special mate my prince.” Zane tells him and Gabriel grins. “Yes, I do” he agrees with him.

There is noise outside the door and I get up to see what is happening. When I open the door, I see that there is a female passed out on the floor. I listen and hear a faint little flutter of a heart beat and knew this was the gamma female. “Gabriel, we need to get the pack doctor now” I shout out and before I can think, I pick her up and start to move towards the pack hospital.

When we arrived, the doctor got to work but for some reason I did not want to leave her side. I watch as they check her over and when they finish the doctor turns towards me. “She is fine and the baby is fine. She is exhausted and not eating enough.” He tells me and I notice that Zane is hovering looking at her with worried eyes but I also pick up something else.

I walk over to him and nod towards the hallway. “I can see that you care about her but there is something more to it” I tell him and he nods his head. “I do care about her but I can scent her as my mate. She has not been able to tell that I am her second chance mate since her wolf is weak still.” He tells me with sad eyes. I nod my head and place my hand on his arm. “She will be able to tell. Just give her time to heal. I can help some but she needs rest and a good meal” I tell him.

He nods his head and looks back to the room. “Go and stay with her. I will let Gabriel know that you are going to be staying the night.” I tell him. He nods his head and goes to walk into the room but stops and turns towards me. “Thank you. You are going to make amazing queen” he tells me and then heads into the room.
