Mira was a full-blood witch, her ancient power steady and woven through every breath. Merrick, a full-blood werewolf, was equally formidable—strength, instinct, and loyalty defined him. Though their worlds were different, Mira’s coven and the pack worked together, magic and claw united. Mira and Merrick’s through their bond.
With Selene in their arms, the alliance was no longer just tradition—it was family. Suddenly, Selene opened her eyes.
A Child of Magic and Moon
Mira’s breath caught. One eye shimmered deep amethyst, bright with witch-born magic; the other gleamed silver, the mark of a werewolf. Merrick stilled, awe and pride washing over him. “There’s no mistaKing her lineage,” he whispered. Even with the storm raging, he looked up at the night sky and gave thanks to the moon goddess.
Mira held Selene closer, heart pounding. “She carries us both.”
Selene blinked slowly, as if already aware born of magic and moon, balanced perfectly between two worlds. Mira brought Selene to her breast; the baby latched quickly, feeding with determination. Mira chuckled softly. “She has your appetite.”
Merrick laughed, brushing his hand over Selene’s tiny head. “I should inform the Alpha. He will want to see you both—he will adore her.” Closing his eyes, Merrick reached out through the mind link, “Alpha, Luna, Mira has given birth. A daughter.” Warmth and joy returned through the bond, Jonathan’s pride and Kelis’s delight clear and strong. “They’re coming,” Merrick said.
Family and Pack Gather
Mira smiled at Merrick. “My love, can you tell my parents, please? Their beautiful granddaughter wishes to meet her grandparents.” “It will be my pleasure,” he replied.
Merrick called Mira’s mother, Raven. After three rings, she answered, “Merrick, is everything okay?” Merrick chuckled, “I think there is someone here who would like to meet her grandparents.” “Has Mira given birth? We are on our way. Is there anything you need? Are they both okay?” “Everything’s fine. We don’t need anything—just you and Marcus.” “We will see you in about an hour,” Raven said before hanging up.
“Mira, your parents are coming now. Let me get you something to drink and a little something to eat. You are going to be exhausted.” “Oh Merrick, I do love you. I would like a cup of chamomile tea, please. And perhaps some honey cake.”
Merrick went into the kitchen to prepare chamomile tea and honey cake, piling the tray high. Then there was a knock at the door—Kaelis and Jonathan, the Alpha and Luna, had arrived.
A Child Like No Other
Kaelis entered just behind Jonathan, her presence calm and radiant, the quiet authority of a true Luna filling the room. Her eyes softened at the sight of Mira, pale but glowing, cradling her newborn, with Merrick protective and proud nearby. Kaelis gazed at the child. “Oh…” she breathed, hand to her chest. “She’s… extraordinary.”
Jonathan approached, his commanding presence softened, reverent as he looked down at the baby. “May we?” Kaelis asked gently. Mira, exhausted but smiling, nodded. “Of course.”
Kaelis moved closer to the bed, her gaze locked on Selene. The baby blinked up at her, mismatched eyes catching the firelight. For a moment, no one spoke. Jonathan exhaled quietly. “A child of both bloodlines… I have never seen such a thing.”
Merrick, pride clear in every line of him, replied, “Neither have I.” Kaelis reached out and brushed a finger along Selene’s tiny hand. The baby curled her fingers around it—strong, deliberate. “She already has strength,” Kaelis smiled.
“And awareness,” Mira added softly. “She knew when you arrived.” Jonathan glanced at Mira, amused. “She takes after her mother, then.” Mira smiled, tired but knowing. “Perhaps.”
