Elle was born into a religious family . Her father named Kim Chang ho and mother named Kim Eunji were both very strict about mannerism , rules and regulations and most of all about their reputation . They were narrow minded along with sick thinking of having a son . They were both against having a daughter .

                They were quite rich . So , they had many servants in their house . There was one old lady named Jeong Helen . She devoted thirty two years of her life to the Kim family. She was thirty years old when she started working for Kim Chang ho's mother . After her death , Chang Ho brought her to his house to serve his wife Kim Eunji .

             One day when God gifted Kim Chang ho and Kim Eunji with the most cherishable present of a daughter, they found it unfortunate and denied it.

    After Elle took her first breath in the outside world of her mother's womb . Her parents disowned her presence . They never looked at her for once .

    That was the time when Helen took care of Elle , pampered her and even gave her the name Kim Elle . Elle grew under her observation , care and love . Elle also became obsessed with Helen and thought of her as her grandmother. Elle also used to call her 'nana'. Helen taught her everything along with etiquettes . Helen knew that Elle's parents were not going to love her that's why she gave all of her attention to Elle. When Elle reached the age of five , Helen left the world of humans . Helen left the little Elle alone .

The First five years of Elle's life was the only one when she felt loveable . Helen's life was just like water in the desert for Elle . After her , Elle was left with barren desert without a drop of water . That was the turning point of her life .

     At age of six , Elle's parents sent her to boarding school . In vacations when she used to come home , no one welcomed her . She used to cook her own food and eat alone. She was locked in a room the whole day and no one talked to her . When her parents needed some chores to be done , only then they would call her .

         At age of seven , when Elle was on her vacation . One day her aunt Kim Lina visited her parents along with her seventeen year old son .

    Elle was in her room as usual playing alone with herself . Her cousin Kim Jung ho came in and tried to be friendly with Elle . He sat beside Elle on the floor. "Elle you are pretty like your doll. Who gave this to you?" Jung ho asked . "Grandma gave this to me. She named her fairy" Elle replied innocently. " But you don't have a grandmother" ."I had my grandma but I can't see her anymore. I don't know where she has gone". "Are you talking about your maid Helen? Who died two years ago?" Jung ho asked. "That is my grandma's name. What do you mean by died? Are you talking about , when people go to heaven? Grandma told me about this . When I won't be able to see her then she will be in heaven with God and that means she is dead for this world" Elle explained everything like every child does. "You talk too much . Elle come here sit on my lap" Jung ho ordered . "Sorry , grandma told me not to sit on someone's lap except for her". "I said come here ". "No , please . Sorry."

Jung ho stood up and tried to pick Elle. "Stop it . It hurts , please stop it Jung" Elle shouted but no one listened . "Shut up you useless brat . No one is going to listen to your cry anyways . Everyone is in the garden " . "Stop it . Grandma help , please help me nana" Elle shrieked, kicking her little feet and arms but her strength wasn't enough to secure her . Jung ho dragged Elle and threw her on the bed . Jung ho held Elle with one hand and tried to open his shirt . Elle somehow kicked Jung ho with all the power in her body and made him stumble . When she saw him stumble , she picked the lamp beside the bed and threw it on Jung ho . He fell down and his head started to bleed . Elle ran away with blood on her feet .

     Elle shouted with her cracking voice and ran in the garden . "Mother help me please . Please help . He is going to kill me . Please help me" . "What the hell! shut up you little bi*tch . Get away from me you dirty rat . Ew! what's this blood and all" Eunji shouted in disgust . "What have you done?" Chang ho asked . "Jun... Jung.... Jung ho brother did" . Lina got up from her seat and grabbed Elle's arm forcefully and asked "What have you done to my child ? This blood on your feet . What have you done to him?" . "Where is Jung ho?" Chang ho asked . "In m... my room" crying Elle replied .

       Everyone rushed towards Elle's room , dragging Elle along . "What have you done? What have you done to him? You are a witch. You little witch! what have you done to my niece?" Eunji shouted again at Elle and dragged her out of the room . Chang ho called the ambulance and Lina rushed towards Elle . She slapped and kicked little Elle . Eunji was standing still there and didn't interrupt to stop her sister from beating her daughter . Elle cried, shouted and begged for help but nobody pitied to her jeremiad. After Lina got tired of beating , she started to yell at her sister . "You gave birth to such trash . And you are standing still after what she has done . The least you can do is to beat her up and compensate for my son's loss" .

     Ambulance came , Lina and Chang ho took Jung ho to the hospital . Eunji was left with a little injured and bleeding girl Elle . She grabbed Elle's hair and made Elle stand up on her feet . She pulled and dragged Elle downstairs . "Mother please stop it . Mother! Mother!" Elle shrieked , shouted for help but all in vain . Eunji dragged Elle to the basement and threw her on the hard floor . She locked the basement room and switched off the lights from outside .
