Once we pulled into the driveway, we decided to stop and get Brenden and Maddison's puppy so that we would have to run between the two houses to care for it. Once we have her in the car, we head over to our home. Hayden tells me to head in and let Rex out. Then he will come in with the twins. That way, Rex has run most of his energy out. Before introducing the twins, I let Maddison's pup down on the ground. Then I walk to the house, let Rex out of his cage, and outside to do his business. Hayden brings the boys in and helps me get them latched on so they can eat.
While I feed the twins, Hayden brings the bags from the car and upstairs to the twin's bedroom. After he is done with that, he walks in and watches me feed his children. "What?" I asked
"Kitten, I never realized how sexy it is that you can provide food for our kids from your body. Watching you feed them makes me realize just how special and unique a woman's body is. I could watch you provide them for hours?" Hayden says.
"It amazes me that my body can make enough milk to feed two Babies. I can't believe they are finally home with us. We don't have to run to the hospital to see them anymore. But, you know, watching you with them brings me nothing but joy."
"I am glad to hear you say that, Kitten. Do you think I should check to see if Rex wants in?"
"Wait until after they finish eating; then we will let him in. I am sure he will love them just as much as we do," I say.
"Alright, kitten," Hayden says, giving me a kiss that held a lot of passion in it,"
So after the boys finished the meal, we put them back in their car seats after changing their diapers. Then Hayden let the pups in. I was a little nervous at first, but once Rex walked in to see the babies, he went over, sniffed them, licked each of their hands, and laid on the floor in front of them. Rex stared at us, And then looked at the boys and went to the stairs. I was trying to figure out what he was trying to get us to do.
"Baby doll, I think he wants us to take the boys up their room," Hayden says.
"Wonder why he is acting like this, but let's try it," I say.
We took the boys out of their seats and brought them up to their room one we were in there, Rex made himself comfortable and laid down in front of one of the cribs. We chuckled at him and then took the boys to our room to change into comfy clothes. Rex followed and sat at the foot of the bed while we laid the boys down to change our clothes. Rex never takes his eyes off the babies. After we were done, I bent down so I could pet and talk to Rex, "I take it the boys are going to be under your watchful eyes. I am glad that you have taken a liking to them, buddy," I say to him as he licked me.
There was a knock on the door; Hayden and I grabbed one of the twins and headed to the front door. Hayden opens the door. Mason was standing on the front porch. "Oh wow, the twins are home," he says.
"Yeah, they come home today. Why don't you come in? I am sure you want to hold them," I say as I start to walk to the living room.
"We were going to order pizza. Would you like to join us for dinner?" Hayden asked.
"Yeah, I am a little hungry. So, introduce me to the twins," Mason says with a smile.
"I am holding Xander. Mel is holding Xaidyn," Hayden says.
"They look alike. How can you tell the two apart," Mason asked, looking between the boys.
"Well, Xander's hair is a little longer than Xaidyn's. And Xaidyn scrunches up his nose when he is falling asleep and Xander starts to fuss," I say.
"So other than that, there are no differences?" Mason asked.
"Not yet. Melinda is the one that noticed the hair." Hayden says, smiling at me.
"Here, Mason, hold Xander while I order the pizza," Hayden says, laying Xander in Mason's arms and grabbing his phone from his back pocket. Rex now notices that Hayden no longer has Xander and looks over a Mason and growls.
"Rex, Xander is fine. Mason isn't going to hurt him," I say and Rex sits down, not taking his eyes off of Mason. "Sorry about Mason; it seems we have a watchdog here. He seems very protective of the boys already."
"It's fine, Mel. He is just doing his job," Mason says to me, laughing.
"Yeah, I know, but I didn't expect him to be this bad from the get-go,"
"He must be happy with you guys, plus he is real. Smart,"
"Yeah, that he is. Mason, would you like a soda or something to drink?" I asked.
"Yes, please. There is a reason I stopped by tonight. I will fill you both in over dinner. If that is alright?"
"I knew there was a reason you stopped by," I laugh.
"What can't I just stop by to chat with you," Mason says, smiling down at the baby in his arms.
"You can but rarely do," I respond.
"What are you chatting about?" Hayden asked as he walked into the kitchen.
"Mason says he has a reason to stop by. So I told him, 'I knew there was a reason.' He looked a little hurt and said, 'can I just stop by to chat?' I said, 'Yeah, you can but rarely do,' and we started laughing," I say.
"I do have some things I need to discuss with you both. But why don't we wait until dinner is here? I want to hold Xaidyn now," he says with a smile.
"Alright, let me take Xander, then Mel can hand you. Xaidyn," Hayden says.
After a few minutes, we lat the boys in a makeshift bed in the living room. Rex lay by the bed and slept. As we waited for the pizza to be delivered, I filled him in on Maddison and Brenden becoming parents today.
"That explains why they aren't here, loving on the twins. What did they have and what's the name," Mason says.
"They have a beautiful baby girl; they named her Allison," I say, "she is adorable,"
There is a knock on the door. Hayden goes and answers it. When he returns, he is holding a couple of pizzas. "Let me go grab some paper plates and some drinks, then we can eat and start the discussion," I say, getting up and heading to the kitchen.
When I come back, we eat for a few minutes in silence; then Mason starts to talk, "Tanners court date is set for next week. He has officially been charged with murder for hire and many other things. Brittany is still out there somewhere, so she may be watching you. If you see or hear from her, call 911 right away. Don't incage with her," Mason says.
"Will I need to testify against him?" I asked.
"The district attorney thinks that if you do, there would be a higher chance that Tanner will be found guilty," Mason says.
"I am willing to do anything I can to help lock him up. I have let him get away with things for far too long." I say, then look at Hayden, "As long as He and Brittany can still talk, my children and I will not be safe."
"We are looking into her whereabouts. It will just take time to flush her out," Mason says.
"I am warning you if she confronts me again, I am going to kick her ass. She almost killed me. She could have taken me away from the twins and Hayden. For that alone, she deserves a good ass-kicking," I say, then adds, "she may end up showing herself at the courthouse. Of course, we all know that she is crazy, so that I wouldn't put it past her."
"She would be stupid to show up there with all the police running around there," Mason says.
"She is crazy, Mason; you didn't see her when she pointed that gun at me and pulled the trigger," I say.
"We will be at the courthouse next week. Just let us know what day and the time," Hayden says.
"I will. Oh, Lisa says hi. She wants you guys to join her for dinner sometime soon. She is still trying to wrap her head around everything she learned about Tanner." Mason huffs out, "He broke her and I have no idea how to put my sister back together,"
"Her heart will mend itself. But, right now, it is still fresh," I say.
"I know it just hurts me to see her this way," Mason says
"Let's talk about something else. Like, do you have a wife or girlfriend?" Hayden says with a wide smile.
"No, I don't have the time to date, anyone. I don't want to make a woman sit at home and wonder whether or not I am going to come home from work." Mason says, looking down at his plate.
"Mason, can't you date someone on the police force? They would understand your job and its duty better than anyone else would," I asked.
"Well, yeah, I could. I just never thought about it like that. I mean, my work-life I always kept apart from my home life. If I ever want to have a family of my own, I will need to merge the two to an extent. There is this officer that flirts with me whenever we see each other. She is beautiful. I may ask her out, see where things go." Macon says, giving Hayden and me a smile.
"Good, Mason, you deserve to be happy. I am sure you will find the person you are meant to be with. They will understand you." I say.
"Don't women find men in uniforms sexy? Don't you have women throwing themselves at you?" Hayden asked.
"To be honest, Hayden, the women who throw them at me all have a history of being crazy. I want a woman who is as close to being "Normal" as possible." Mason says, using his hands to make quote marks when he says normal.
We talked a little bit more. Then the boys start to cry. Rex comes running over to me and uses his snout to push me. I stand up and he runs to the boys and runs back to me. Once I pick up the boys, I go to a sitting room, lay them on the sofa, and change diapers. Realizing I had forgotten the diaper, I called for Hayden to bring them and the wipes to me. After changing their diapers, I get both boys to latch simultaneously. Rex lay in front of me the whole time.
When I fixed myself and went back to the living room, Rex got up and followed me. When I lay the sleeping boys back down, Rex checks to ensure they are ok and laid down by their beds. "He seems to have taken a liking to the twins pretty quickly," Mason says.
"Yeah, I think the twins are going to be attached at the dog's hip when they get older. With him being protective of the boys, I feel sorry for someone that tries to hurt them," I say.
"I can't believe that he is acting this way with the twins when he is this young. Imagine how Rex will be when he is fully grown. I mean, he growled at Mason and we handed him the baby." Hayden says.
"I bet you he bonded with the boys when they were in Melinda's tummy and having them here. He wants to protect them, which is a good thing. I better get going. I want to stop by and check on Lisa.
We walked Mason to the door and said our goodbyes. When we returned to the living room, Rex was still lying where we had left him. "Rex, do you want to go out? Then we will all go upstairs and go to sleep," I asked him.
He gets up goes to the door; I open the door, and he darts out, "Hayden, have you seen Maddison and Brenden's puppy."
"Yeah, she is sleeping on the front porch. I couldn't get her to come in earlier," Hayden replies.
"I will see if I can get her in here for the night. I think that she is missing her humans," I say, walking to the door. Both dogs were lying in front of the door and darted into the house when the door opened. I laugh and shut the door. Then Hayden and I make sure all doors are locked. Then, we take a twin and go upstairs to bed.
The pups follow us up the stairs and lay in front of the crib. The babies were placed in the crib beside each other. They wiggle to where they are snuggling against each other and go back to sleep. We watch the boys sleep for a few minutes, then turn on the baby monitor and go to our bedroom,
Once in our room, Hayden grabs me and wraps his arms around me. He brings his mouth to mine and kisses me deeply and passionately. The need in me grows strong. Hayden and I hadn't had s*x since before the boys were born and right now, I need him like I need to breathe.
"Babe, don't you dare start something you don't plan to finish. I am so s*x deprived about to try pleasuring myself,"
"Believe me; I have no plans on stopping until the twins cry. I have never been more ready to take you than I am right now," Hayden says, lifting me. I wrap my arms around his waist and he takes me to the bed. Laid me down.
The twins slept for three hours.
