Best Friends to Lovers

Chapter 2

The following day I woke up on the love seat. Once I remembered what happened yesterday, I sat up and looked around. Hayden was asleep on the sofa. Maddie and Brenden were nowhere in the living room. So I got up and went to the guest room. The door was still open. There was no sign of them there. They must have left sometime after I fell asleep. Walking back to the living room, I look at Hayden sleeping. I shake my head, go to my room and get ready for the day. Walking back out to the living room, Hayden was still sleeping. I went to the kitchen and started to fix breakfast.

As I was finishing up breakfast, Hayden walked in, ”Baby girl, it smells good in here. But you didn’t have to cook me breakfast; baby, you must be emotionally drained after last night. Where are Maddison and Brenden?”

“I was wondering the same thing. Those two weren’t here when I woke up. So this is a good time for you and me to have that discussion. You want to start talking about it now or after we eat. I have so much I want to talk to you about,”

“We can go ahead and start talking about us. But, I also have something I want to say to you.”

“Well, let me start by filling you in with how I started dating Tanner. As you know, when we met Tanner, I wasn’t sure about him. I would try to keep my distance when you weren’t around. At this time, I had already realized I was falling for you. When I would drop hints, you seemed to blow them off. Then you started dating Daisy. I was heartbroken. I gave up and started hanging with Tanner more. The more time I spent with him, the more I liked him. Once he finally asked me out, you and Daisy seemed like you were in love with each other. So I said yes to him,” I say, looking over at Hayden, “Getting together with Tanner was a big mistake from the get-go. I was just too stupid to realize it.” I say, looking into Hayden’s eyes.

“I realized that I was in love with you once I saw you and Tanner were together. I knew you flirted with me a lot. I thought it was you playing around. I wish I would have taken that as a sign to make a move,” Hayden replies.

“There is more, I don’t know how to say it, but I need to. Let me finish before you say anything. Can you do that?” I asked. Hayden nods his head. I take a deep breath, then exhale. “Tanner would get mean after we were dating for about six months and I wouldn’t sleep with him. Every couple of months, he would try again with no luck. He got me so drunk after a year of dating, I blacked out. The only thing I remember seeing is flashes of him on top of me, thrusting in me. When I asked him about it, he said I asked him to take me. Hayden, I don’t remember anything about it. The first time I wanted to be special, it was anything but special for me. He knew I wanted it to be special,"

“That was two years ago. That was when you tried to shut all of your friends off. Why didn’t you tell me about it?”

“Because it was my fault, I should never have drunk that much. Anyways after Tanner finally got me to talk to him again, he promised never to do anything like that again. Then it was another six months before I slept with him again. I don’t know what I was thinking. I feel dirty and used by him, and it pisses me off, knowing that I let him get away with r****g me. I let him get away with treating me like s**t,” I say, with tears running down my cheeks.

“That son of a b***h r***d you and made you think that you wanted it. He cheats on you and then wants you back. He believes that he can use and abuse you. Well, I now know what happened. I will fight until my last breath to keep you away from him. Melinda, I love you and always have. Can we hang out and see where our relationship goes? I know that you just ended a relationship and aren’t ready for another, but I want to be by your side while helping you get through this. I won’t pressure you.”

“Hayden, there is so much more I need to tell you, but it can wait. I would love to spend more time with you. I also love you. Now come here, hug me,”

“Only if I can get a kiss to tie me over,” he smirks at me.

“Get over here, goofy,” I say with a smile.

Hayden walks around the table to me and pulls me to his chest. He wraps his arms around my waist and bends down to bring his lips to mine. Once our lips connect, I lose all control of my senses. I am kissing my best friend. The man I have loved for years and I are kissing.

He nips my bottom lip asking for entrance. I grant it as our two mouths move in sync. I realize that I feel at home with this man. Before I know it, I am being lifted and placed on my counter. I have my hands under Hayden's shirt, rubbing his abs. “Babe, if we don’t stop now, I may not be able to. I have waited a long time to be able to do this,”

“I want you. I don’t want you to stop. I know what I am doing. I know what I want. I want you. I have always wanted you. Now please take me to my bedroom and make love to me,” I say.

“I have wanted you for a long time. Are you sure?”

“I am,” I say as I connect our lips again.

Hayden picks me up and carries me to my room, where he lays me down on the bed and climbs on top of me. As we kiss, I pull his shirt off while he removes mine. Next, Hayden unsnaps my bra and removes it. Then, he pulls back and looks at my breast. “I have dreamed about seeing you under me for so long. You are so much more beautiful than I could ever have dreamed,” he says as he takes one of my n*****s into his mouth. He then switches to the other and does the same thing before he kisses down my stomach and stops at the button of my jeans, looks at me. I nod my head. He then takes my Jeans and panties off.

With me naked lying on the bed, he looks at my body and takes off his pants and boxers. I can’t take my eyes off the wonder of this blond hair green-eyed man in front of me. He climbs back on the bed with his face lined up to my core. He smiles and licks me, bringing me to a quick o****m. I reach for him and bring his lips back to mine. As he lines himself up to my center, he teases me a little before he thrusts into me. Then, there is a knock on the door.

He starts to move off of me. “No, let's finish. Can you make it quick, then we can repeat this later,” I say with a smile, then add, “I think I am addicted to you already.”

He chuckles. "I know I am addicted to you already. But yes, let’s make this quick.” He said as he thrust in and out of me a few times. I feel my o****m build. “I am close, kitten,” Hayden growls out.

“So am I,” I say as I drag my nails down his back and grab hold of his rear end. When my o****m comes, it hits hard. Hayden soon follows me. I kiss him and say, “Wow,”

“I don’t think I will ever get enough of you.”

“Good, I know, I won't," I say. "I need to go get dresses and answer the door,”

“I will go take a shower in the guest room. That was the best quickie I have ever had. Can’t wait until I can make love to you, nice and slow,” Hayden says.

My center clinches, “Looking forward to it,” I say as we walk out of my room. I kiss Hayden and turn to the living room to answer the door.

Once I get to the door, I look out the peephole and see Maddie and Brenden kissing on the porch. I open the door and smile. “We were wondering where you two went. Hayden is in the shower. Breakfast is on the counter. I will be right back.” I say as I head toward my bedroom.

I closed the door to my room and made sure that Hayden and I didn’t leave any evidence of our activity out in the open. Once I was sure, I took a quick shower and walked back out to the kitchen. I saw Maddie and Brenden feeding each other. They look cute together. Maddison’s black hair and brown eyes with a nice tan look good next to Brenden’s dirty blond hair, hazel eyes, and muscles.

“So, how long have you and Hayden been up?” Maddison asked me.

“Long enough to talk about a lot of things. We will go with the flow when it comes to a relationship. We want to try to make it work,” I say.

Hayden walks in, walks over to me, and gives me a passionate kiss. “We are going to take things one day at a time while spending time together and getting to know one another on a deeper level,” Hayden says.

“What aren’t you two telling us,” Brenden asked.

I smile at Hayden and lift my eyebrow. He nods. "They are going to know, so why not," he says.

“We were having s*x when you all rudely knocked and interrupted,” I say.

“Which caused us to pull a quickie. By the way, I am not happy about it. I wanted our first time to be nice and slow,” Hayden adds.

“Sorry, dude, if we thought that you two would be f*****g we would have waited to come back,” Brenden says as he smirks at Hayden.

“Mel, are you sure that you are ready to move on from Tanner?”

“Maddison, there are things that even you don’t know happened in my relationship with him. I am more than over, Tanner. How could I not be? He screwed up, not me. Plus, I have this sexy, handsome man I have loved for a long time, which happens to be single. He wants to be with me, and I want to be with him. He is willing to let things move at a natural pace. I am more than ready to see where things will go. You know I have been in love with Hayden for a long time, even before I met Tanner.”

“I am just making sure you are going to be alright. I am happy that you are happy now,” Maddie says with a smile.

“I am as happy as can be. I can’t wait to see where things will go from here, Maddison,” I say. Maddison smiles at me, winking.

“Okay, since that is over, what is the plan for the day?’ Hayden asked.

“Maddison and I are going to my parent’s house for a bonfire,” Brenden says.

“I think I want to stay in and relax a little. Watch some Netflix or something. Hayden, you can stay and watch movies with me if you want,” I say as I rinse dishes and put them in the dishwasher.

“I like the sound of that. We can talk and get to know each other on a more intimate level,” Hayden says as he pulls me into his arms. I smile and kiss him.

“We need to head out so we can cook a covered dish to bring to my parent’s house. Talk to you guys later. Oh, I am glad that you are finally away from Tanner. You deserve someone who will treat you like a princess, Melinda,” Brenden says as he and Maddie head to the door.

When the front door closes, I turn to Hayden. Wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him. He returns the kiss with a passion that soon makes me wet. I pull away and take him to the living room; I close the blinds and lock the front door.

I walk to Hayden and kiss him again; Hayden picks me up. I wrap my legs around his waist. He sits down on the couch with me, straddling him. Looking in his eyes, “You know I have never had an o****m during s*x before, until today. It was great. No, that's not the right word; it was mind-blowing.” I say, feeling my face heat up.

“There will be plenty more of those for you. Having an o****m with you is the first time I have wanted to keep going afterward. Why don’t we go to the bedroom so I can make love to you for the rest of the day?” Hayden says. I stand up and start stripping on my way to the bedroom. “You are going to be the death of me, woman,” he growls out, causing me to giggle.

I lay on the bed with my legs spread apart; I started rubbing two fingers over my c**t. Finally, Hayden stops at the bed and removes his clothes. His manhoods springs out. “Come here. I want to taste you,” I say.

“Later, today is about us making love,” Hayden says as he climbs over me and kisses me. “I love you, Mel. I want to look into your eyes as I show you how much,”

For the rest of the day, we stayed in bed, making love, talking, and getting to know more about each other. The way Hayden looks at me makes me feel cherished. When the sun starts to set, we get up, order pizza, and watch a movie. As the ending credits rolled, Hayden looked over at me, “Mel, I know that things between us have moved relatively quick, but if your uncomfortable, we can slow down,”

“Hayden, let me tell you something. Tanner and my relationship wasn’t a relationship at all toward the end. I could walk around here nude in front of him for hours and he wouldn’t bat an eye. He was done with me way before I caught him in bed with someone else.

“He made his bed; let him lie in it. I want to explore what this is between us. We both have loved each other for a long time; falling between the sheets with you is something I have thought about for years. But, it’s better than I imagined. As long as we continue to build our relationship, it could indeed be amazing,” I say, leaning in to kiss him.

“The s*x was the best I have ever had. I love the way you respond to me and the way you look when you reach an o****m,” Hayden says as he brings his lips to mine.

Hayden and I watched another movie. I must have fallen asleep halfway through it because I woke up when he lifted me and carried me to my bed. As he laid me down, he kissed my forehead, “Melinda, I want you to be my girlfriend. I will wait for you,” he says as he walks over to the other side of the bed and climbs in before pulling me to him and wrapping his arm around me.

Just as I was falling asleep, there was a knock on my door. I told Hayden to stay; I would be right back.
