Gabriel             After I put Constance to bed, I got myself ready for the war I was about to wage.             Pulling out the leather armor, sword and knife from the chest at the end of the bed, I went into the living room to change, decreasing the chances of waking her.  She needed sleep and didn’t need to know what I was going to do.  Changing into a long-sleeved black shirt and black denim pants, I strapped on the armor:  shoulder plates, chest piece with a hood attached and forearm cuffs.  It wouldn’t protect me from any major injuries, but it would save me from the smaller wounds most immortals tended to inflict in order to weaken an adversary.  Besides, this way I kept my full range of motion.  Stepping into my soft leather knee-high boots, I buckled them in place.  Securing my
