Manota stood at the windows overlooking the gardens far below. He listened as his father and brothers talked quietly with Kev and Walter. He had invited the ringmaster because he realized that Jo was right, if they wanted to minimize the number of innocent bystanders at the ceremony getting hurt, they needed to do something totally unexpected, totally alien to anything they had ever done before.
