The door slammed shut reverberating Zephyr’s chest. He stood still, frozen, a chilly sensation running down his spine. He’d known they were determined to have him killed, but he had no idea that he would escape this one. He’d hidden the woman and her son in the attic upstairs. If they didn’t find them, only two things could have happened. It’s either the woman escaped with her son through the back door or, Glenn and the others found her but didn’t say a word.
