Zephyr's eyes tensed, fingers curling into fists as he stared into Michael’s firm gaze. The man wouldn't move, and he really had to go. Sylvia and Anthony were expecting him. He had to make sure that she was alright. Pressure thickened in his chest as Michael took another step closer. The man's firm demeanour softened. “Don't make the same mistake I made, Zephyr.” The words were like instruments in Zephyr’s ears, unpleasant ones. He tightened his fists. “I won't fail,” Zephyr said. “I will pass the test if that is what you want but you have to let me go.” Zephyr watched the man's eyes, searching for a bit of understanding, but there was none.
