26 The Morning Light The Cabin The next morning the sun shone through one of two windows in the bedroom. Peyton looked around from the comfortable bed. She thought back to last night when she had first climbed in. She could still smell Brock on the sheets, and it was nice. As she’d drifted to sleep, the one thing she wished she had, however, was the warm feel of Brock laying next to her. This wasn’t a s****l urge, it was just the yearning to have someone to hold; another softly beating heart to be next to. The men had been right, however. Now, with light pouring in from the east, everything looked so much brighter, more positive somehow.
