“What did they say?” I asked, irritation and frustration thick in my voice.
“The investigation is still going on. The restaurant has been shut down for now,” Damon said, his words only causing me to clench my fists in rage.
“What do you mean the investigation is still going on?” I snapped, my tone dripping with annoyance. “They have a f*****g CCTV camera and they still couldn’t find out who did it?”
“The person was covered, so they couldn’t—”
“Ashley did it,” Liam interrupted, his voice hollow, his expression completely numb. “I saw her. She looked worried and scared. She did it.”
The memory of her frantic face in the corridor flashed in my mind. Yes, I did see Ashley. Oh my goodness, she actually did this.
