Liam’s POV I skimmed another flat stone across the dark river, watching it skip twice before sinking with a pathetic splash. Patience had never been my strong suit, and tonight it was fraying thread by thread. I checked my phone again. Ten-fifteen. She still hadn’t shown. A low sigh escaped me as I pocketed the device. “She’s really not coming, is she?” I muttered to the empty night. “Guess she doesn’t care if I expose her. Hell, maybe I was just guessing.
