Why is he staring at me like this and why is he here? I shifted in my chair, heart hammering against my ribs. “Lucian, what do you want? And why are you in my office? You didn’t even knock.” The words barely left my lips before they dissolved into the thick silence between us. He didn’t answer. Instead, he kept walking forward, slow and deliberate, his eyes locked on mine with an intensity that made my breath catch. He stopped a few feet away, just staring, drinking me in like I was the only thing left in the world. Then he closed the distance. I took a step back. “What are you doing?” He kept coming.
