Aurora’s POV
Emette’s eyes practically jumped out of his skull, but he quickly cleared his throat, desperately scrambling to recover. "He—he lives here because he is handling a massive, confidential project with Damon right now," Emette stammered, managing to find his footing. "It's just for a little while, just temporary until the project is finalized."
Damon’s mom blinked, her gaze shifting between the two men before settling back on Liam. "Oh... I get that. But it is still a little weird to have him staying under the same roof, isn't it? I mean, he is Aurora's ex-husband."
Liam’s lips curved into a smooth, perfectly practiced smile. "You don’t need to worry at all, ma'am. There is absolutely nothing going on between Aurora and me anymore. And you know I could never lie to you."
