17 As the Wanderer dropped out of jump space a weight settled back on Jess’s shoulders. He stared at the mismatched fleet and knew the fleet stared back. Ali leaned forward to rest a hand on his shoulder, and sent a blast of warm emotions through their link. Jess smiled and relaxed a little.
