Sleep had taken its time coming to me. After being with Ares my mind seemed light and free, but once my father called everything seemed to change. The once happy feeling I felt turned into something sour and rotten as my father's words played back in my head. He didn't care about what I was looking for in a husband, he wanted me to marry Timothy and that was final.
I wanted to call my mom and tell her how unreasonable he was being but two things stopped me. It was well after midnight, and I knew she was asleep and the other thing being she was on his side.
