The night couldn’t have ended soon enough for Damien. He just wanted this horrible day to be done with. He had been more than happy to go back to the hotel. He had been annoyed but not surprised when his mother had the hotel give away Eve’s room and move her into the room with him. They were married after all they could share a room was his mother’s logic. Damien had said nothing just headed for the shower when they got back and locked himself in the bathroom for as long as possible. The terrible day was over, but now he was expected to go to bed with his new wife. The whole idea was vile to him. The same woman until the day he died. There was nothing worse. Eve was beautiful yes, but what happened when beauty faded? There was nothing else between them. Damien towelled off and came out into the main room wearing his shorts. He paused briefly to see Eve in a short soft red satin teddy. Her dark raven hair had been let down and now hung in heavy, messy curls down her back. His eyes had moved to her luggage, and he noticed that the only other thing she had packed was a green silk teddy. It would appear she had planned on a romantic weekend but not with him. A fact that only furthered Damien’s annoyance. Eve pulled back the covers and climbed into bed. Damien lay down beside her giving her his back and pulling the covers up around his shoulders. He reached out turning off the lamp and tried to go to sleep. Images of Eve in Dane’s bed were driving him nuts, and Damien found himself wondering if she had already slept with his nephew. Too annoyed to sleep Damien gave the blanket a good yank leaving Eve with very little. Eve tugged back with all her strength leaving Damien with a corner of the blanket. Damien wrapped the corner around his hand and tugged hard whipping the blanket right off Eve and tucking it around himself. He grinned with satisfaction and closed his eyes. Eve tried to pull the blanket back, but Damien had it tucked under his body in such a way that she could not get a handle on it. So, she picked up her pillow and hit him in the head with it. Damien protested putting his arm up to block the next blow and Eve hit him again and again until he let go of the blanket. Damien grabbed the pillow from Eve and held it out of her reach. “Now you don’t get this either.” He snapped. “Give it back. Stop being such a baby.” Eve growled reaching for her pillow. Damien moved it out of reach again but not before hitting her with it first. “Damien.” She whined. “No, you’re just going to hit me with it again.” He griped as she crawled over him trying to get her pillow back. “If you weren't such a jerk with the blanket I wouldn’t have hit you.” Eve snapped reaching for the pillow and only getting bopped on the head with it again before Damien knocked her over onto her side of the bed. “Why are you wearing that?” Damien demanded sitting up in bed. “Because it’s what I brought. It was this or naked.” She said sitting up and pulling the blanket back to her side. “But why did you bring that?” “None of your bloody business.” Eve hissed reaching for her pillow and being tapped in the head with it again. She put her hands down frustrated. “Damien!” “You were going to sleep with him, weren’t you?” He demanded with far more venom in his tone than he had meant. “It doesn’t matter. Give me my pillow.” She snarled, tackling him and getting a grip on the end of her pillow as they struggled over it. Damien refused to let go. “Let it go, Damien! It’s mine.” Damien pushed Eve over and pinned her under his weight, trying to fight the pillow from her surprisingly strong grasp; furious that she would not answer his question. She had intended to be with Dane he knew it; she had as good as admitted it by refusing to answer him. Had she already been with him? Had he already touched her, kissed her, been inside her? The very thought of it made him irrationally upset. Damien pinned Eve to the bed, and she squirmed beneath him her hand beating on his chest refusing to give up the battle. She would win her pillow back. She would not allow him to push her around. “Answer me!” He demanded, furious with her. “You were going to sleep him.” “What do you care?” “Have you slept with him?” He asked pulling her pillow out of her hands. “I hate you!” She shrieked pounding her hands against his chest. “Did you f**k him?” “Give me my pillow.” “No.” “I want it back, now.” She commanded. “Give it to me Damien! Give it to me now!” She yelled. A phrase that oddly set him on fire. Damien tossed her pillow aside and held her hands down so she could not hit him again. His lips claimed hers, his tongue invading her mouth demanding she kiss him back. His knee forced her legs apart, and Damien settled in between her thighs. Rocking against her rubbing his arousal against the warm, soft triangle he desired. It took a few minutes for her resistance to fade but Eve plunged her hands into his dark hair and pulled Damien down closer to her eating at his mouth like he sustained her life. Damien sat back on his knees; wrapping his arm around Eve’s waist, he lifted her into his lap. Her head fell back as he kissed and suckled at her neck pulling the strap of her teddy down her shoulder exposing her perky breast. She tugged lightly on his hair when he began suckling her n*****s. His hands spread out over her back holding her hard against him. Eve was mindless with desire when Damien moved to the next breast, and she pulled his hair, so his head fell back forcing him to look up at her with those lusty green eyes. Eve had him feeling crazy. He wanted her so badly. The look in her eyes pleading. “Damien please.” Was all she had to say. Damien threw Eve back against the mattress and pushed his shorts off. Her legs opened to him Damien removed her lacy panties and sunk into her over and over. Lifting her legs over his shoulder, he pushed deeper. Blinded by his lust, he thought he would die if he didn’t find release. Eve cried out and shook with the bliss of her release and Damien relaxed enough to surrender to his spilling into his new wife like a dam that had finally burst. It was violent and primal like nothing he had ever felt before. Damien collapsed beside Eve on the bed panting to catch his breath as the insanity began to pass. He had not meant to sleep with her. His hands covered his eyes with regret. He had only wanted an answer to his question, but his jealousy had gotten the better of him. What was worse was he still had not gotten his answer. They lay in awkward silence, both unsure of what had just occurred. Damien found he could not help himself. “Did you sleep with him?” Eve shrieked with fury and hit him hard with his pillow. Damien put up his hands to defend himself from the attack and watched as Eve jumped out of bed. “You are such a hypocrite.” She snapped reaching for the bathrobe and wrapping it around herself. She tied the belt at her waist and headed for the door. “Where are you going?” “To sleep around.” She called back slamming the door behind her. Damien was left alone in the room. His temper raging. She was imposable. *** Mary turned off the television and slipped out of bed when she heard a knock at the door. She pulled on the bathrobe and opened the door to fine Eve standing on the other side in tears. “What’s wrong?” Eve came into the room, and Mary shut the door. “Oh Mary, he is horrible. I’ve ruined my life. Damien is a terrible man.” Eve cried. Mary opened her arms and Eve instinctively curled into her embrace. She stroked her little sister’s hair and tried to calm her down. It was true they did not get along too well but they loved each other nonetheless, and Mary did not want to see Eve so upset. She had dated Damien, and she couldn’t imagine the man was as bad as Eve was making him out to be. Sure, he sinned more than most men, but she believed that deep down the man had a good heart. “Eve honey, it can’t be all that bad. He is attractive and wealthy.” “And mean and selfish.” “I bet he is an extraordinary lover,” Mary said with an envious smile. She knew that she had always been the blessed one in life. That Eve had been envious of her their entire childhood. It was nice for Eve to finally have something in her life that Mary would have wanted. “He is a hypocrite and a philander.” “And you are a stubborn pig-headed annoying little brat. You’re perfect for each other.” Mary teased ushering her sister to the bed and taking a seat. “I’m not going to say I understand because I don’t. I do know that this is going to be very hard on you, but Daddy always tells those engaged couples that come in for pre-marriage counselling that marriage isn’t easy. It’s hard, and if it’s worth having, it’s worth working at. So, honey don’t discourage. Just beat him at his own game.” “But Mary his game is vile.” Eve protested. “What I mean is don’t let him run amuck. Don’t let him walk all over you. You never have in the past why start now. Show that husband of yours that you’ve got a backbone.” Eve threw her arms up in a huff. “I can’t do this. I can’t live with that man.” Mary folded her hands in her lap and looked at Eve blushing a little. “Don’t tell Daddy but I think that real love, the truth must-have undying love; it’s not finding someone nice that you can live with for the rest of your life. I think it’s when you find someone that you can’t live without.” Mary took Eve’s hand supportively. “You are much stronger than I am. I bet you can make that husband of yours fall in love with you if you tried.” Eve smiled at Mary. This was the nicest her sister had ever been to her. “Are you mad at me?” “Well, you did steal my boyfriend. My wealthy boyfriend.” Mary laughed. “But if he is as bad as you say I think I dodged a bullet.” Eve couldn’t help but laugh too. She was probably right. “Can I stay here tonight?” “Sure,” Mary said throwing back the covers. Eve crawled into bed with her sister and soon she was fast asleep the stress of the day has gotten the better of her. *** Damien pounded on Dane’s door. It had been more than an hour since Eve had walked out and she had not returned. Her absence turned out worse than her presence. He could not stop wondering, and it was driving him mad. “Open the door!” He barked making a ruckus. Finally, the door opened, and Dane was standing there glaring back at him. “What?” “Where is she?” Damien demanded, pushing his way in to search the room. “Where is who?” Dane asked his arms crossed over his chest confrontationally. “Eve.” Dane scoffed. “Problems with the wife?” Damien threw open the washroom door, checked the closet, and looked under the bed. However, he did not find her. “Where is she?” He demanded standing toe to toe glaring at Dane. “I’m sure I have no idea.” “Did you sleep with her?’ Damien barked without thinking. Dane laughed out loud. “So that’s what this is about? You’re jealous. You are jealous.” “Answer my question.” “No, I don’t think I will. Get out.” Dane said opening the door once more. He stepped aside so Damien could leave. “Your missing wife is your problem.” Still annoyed Damien left Dane’s room and spent the evening pacing and waiting for Eve who never came back. It was morning when the door opened and Eve entered the room quietly. Damien had not been asleep as he sat in the armchair in the corner of the room. “Enjoy your night out?” He asked. Eve thrust out her chin defiantly and walked right past him to her suitcase. He watched as she picked out clothes for the day and then disappeared into the washroom slamming the door. Damien got up and got dressed then packed both their bags. When she emerged from the washroom, he stood up and handed Eve her bag. “We’re going home.” “Fine with me.” She snapped and led the way. God give him the strength not to kill his wife.
