TRYING LUCK
David goes through her credentials, He suddenly pursed
‘He was confused and asked; "What did you call your name?”
“Jolie Angel sir” she replied sadly
David turned in and out of her credentials several times and asked again
You said your name….Angel quickly cut in and answered
“Jolie Angel sir.” she stammered
David was angry and threw her credentials on her body and it scattered on the floor tiles.
Angel was shocked and packed all her credentials from the floor tiles. Her body was shaking; sweat covered her from head to toe.
“Get out of my office” David shouted
Angel shivered, heading out from his office, suddenly David called her back again
He said furiously “Don't ever step your feet into my office again, liar.”
Angel feels embarrassed and rushes out of his office.
David called out to his guard, to open the window for him
“Michael!” He shouted
He rushed in
“Yes sir.” head bowed
“Open those windows” he authoritatively said
“Okay sir” head bowed
David was busy hitting the edge of his pen on the table, feeling uncomfortable.
“Done sir”, head bowed. David replied by hand gesture.
David later stood up boastfully from his seat and entered his resting room.
Angel was walking wobbly on the road. She was on her way to the bus stop to board the bus back home.
She was depressed at David's behaviour towards her. She sat down alone, waiting for the bus to arrive. Some minutes later, the bus arrived and she entered.
On her arrival home, she knocked, but Michelle had gone out. She was very frustrated and unhappy. she took the keys from her bag, opened the door, and entered.
On her entry, she kneeled and started blubbering, at the same praying hardily to Almighty God.
She suddenly heard Michelle's voice from nowhere, she didn't lock the door when she entered.
“Angel, what happened, why are you crying?”
You didn't lock the door, you know we have thugs on our street.” Michelle shouted
Angel quickly opened her eyes and used the down part of her dress to wipe off the tears on her cheek.
“Angel, the man didn't offer you the job again?” she said sympathetically
“She threw my credentials on my body” she replied emotionally
Michelle stared endlessly at the credentials, Angel had scattered on the floor without touching it.
“Why!”
what happens to them?” she answered audibly
Angel answered by using a hand gesture. Michelle later packed all the credentials on the floor. She opened them and noticed it was hers.
“What!”
“You took my credentials” she shouted
Angel was confused
“What do you mean, your credentials, how?” she audibly replied
“I said you took my credentials, instead of yours,” Michelle emphasized
Angel frowned and walked towards her to confirm.
“This is impossible, I took your credentials from home to that man’s office.” Said emotionally
“I must be foolish". Angel abused
herself
Michelle moved closer to Angel and gave her advice.
“You know what you will do now, you will go back to that man”. she said boastfully
Angel was discouraged and frowned her face
“No, I won't” she refused
“You must!”
“Have you forgotten your future ambition?”Michelle replied
emphatically
“You will tell him, you mistakenly took your friend’s credentials,” Michelle said frankly
“The man said I should not come to his office again, she even called me a liar,” Angel explained.
Michelle was confused
“Liar on what? You lied to him before, or he knows you somewhere?”
“ I don't know for him, wicked soul!”Angel said emotionally
“You know that's the only highest-paid company.”Michelle insists
“The man harassed me so much, I can't go back to that man. She embarrassed me.”
Michelle puts her hand on Angel's shoulder and consoles her
“Angel, all will be well, but think deeply about it.”
Angel was left alone in the room, she was meditating. She doesn't know what to do. She was mentally disturbed; it was already 10:00 pm, and she couldn't sleep.
She later made up her mind to go back to the company to fulfil her future ambition, as advised by Michelle.
She woke up around midnight. She was feeling cold and vomiting at the same time. Michelle noticed these and hesitated to give her medicine.
But the symptoms persisted, so they went to the hospital in the morning.
“Good morning doctor” Michelle greeted politely
“How are you" the doctor replied
politely
“Am fine sir” head bowed
“What can I do for you ma'am?” politely asked
“Her name is Angel, she has been vomiting and feeling cold since midnight,” Michelle explained.
The doctor asked and wrote, as he listened attentively
“Okay, ma'am”.
“How old is she?” the doctor asked gently
“21 years old sir,” Michelle replied politely
He replied politely “Okay.”He uses the thermometer and sphygmomanometer to check his temperature and blood pressure level respectively
Michelle asked politely,” What's her temperature and blood pressure level, sir”
“Very good, there's no problem. Her temperature reads 36, and her blood pressure level is 100,78”. He replied positively
“Okay sir, thank you very much sir” They bowed their heads
He smiles at them
“You're welcome” he replied politely
“Is your body aching?” the doctor asked politely
Angel replied sluggishly,” no sir”
“Are you feeling dizzy?” The doctor asked
Angel replied politely “No sir”
After the assessment, he handed the paper to Michelle to buy those drugs.
“Take, go buy these drugs, an explanation will be given, at the pharmacy store” He explained
“All right sir.” Michelle bowed her head
“Sorry dear, she will be fine,” the doctor said sympathetically
Michelle and Angel replied, “Thank you very much, sir.” They bowed their heads.
They went out, heading to the pharmacy store; Angel's health had improved. They got to the pharmacy store and bought the drugs as prescribed. On their way home, they gist, laugh and they were happy.
On getting back home, Angel had fully regained her strength. She set out to carefully sort out her credentials. She didn't want the mistake she had made yesterday to repeat itself.
She listened to music on her earphones as she was sorting her credentials. She was very happy. She had made up her mind to go back to the company tomorrow morning as early as 7:00 am.
Michelle called her from the living room
Angel….
“Yes, love!” She replied with happiness
“Your food is ready,” Michelle replied
“Okay am coming love” Angel replied politely
Angel later joined Michelle in the living room to eat, she ate and took her drugs as prescribed. They were happy, and Michelle advised Angel on tips to use to be offered a job the following day.
“Angel, don’t let him know you are afraid of him,” Michelle said boldly
“Be bold.” She emphasizes
Angel uses mouth gestures to show discourage
“Okay, I pray so”. Angel responds depressively
Michelle courageously cuddled her, and they went to sleep.
Angel had already woken up early in the morning, setting up for the bus stop. She was very cold and had nasal congestion; she sneezed frequently, and her hands swelled. But she didn't care.
The bus arrived exactly at 7:00 am, and she entered. Entering the company, she arrived at the office entrance. But she was not allowed to knock at the door, talk less of entering. She was stopped by his guard, Michael.
“Madam, what do you want?” Michael asked sharply
Angel was surprised, “I am here to see the CEO, sir.”
He frowned at her and responded
“You are not allowed in,” he said frankly
She was very embarrassed, she moved away from the office entrance, walked wobbly down the floor and spoke to herself
“The man meant what he said, but I need this job.” She speaks soliloquy and uses hand gestures at the same time.
She found a waiting chair around, and she sat on it. She was confused, she didn't know what to do and she didn't want to call Michelle. Michelle will blame her. She just sat on a chair as if she were waiting for someone.
She had been in deep thought when she suddenly heard the tenor voice of a man from nowhere.
