“Merry Christmas, Meg,” Kat said as she handed me a gift.
“We had agreed not to!”
She flashed an innocent smile before settling beside Jax. A week passed before I stumbled upon them f*cking in the living room. I wished I hadn't witnessed it, but unfortunately, I did. After that incident, they couldn't seem to stay apart. Despite Kat's insistence that they weren't dating or in a relationship, their actions suggested otherwise. They spent a significant amount of time together, sharing a bed and sitting closely beside each other. Kat could deceive herself, but she couldn't fool me.
"Good thing I brought something for you too," I informed her, retrieving the gift I had concealed behind the couch and handing it to her.
"You sneaky little thing," she teased.
