CHAPTER SIXJenna June 27, 2007: Time Unknown We seem to have been moving for hours. My stomach hurts, and the constant pounding of my head is agonizing. My right arm is cold and numb. At the other end of the trailer, Mallory is sitting upright. We stare at each other, not breaking eye contact. Despair fills her eyes. The vehicle has slowed down and is making multiple turns. Most of the others are awake and crouched down near the wall that restrains them. Many of them are sobbing. The back of the truck is so hot and stuffy. My mouth is dry, and my salty lips c***k every time I try to move them. The dirt underneath me is sticking to my legs and makes a horrible scratching sound every time the truck turns and my body slides against the floor. We come to a stop and my heart rate increases.
